seems to indicate E-V-To-D-for-Mac (1.0.5) ALWAYS captures at 4:3 aspect ratio when set at "High" resolution. This works GREAT for old movies captured from a DVR, but many personally-recorded videos were recorded at the widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio.
Based upon the response to the earlier question, I am guessing that using the "Medium" setting during E-V-To-D-for-Mac recording will avoid the "4:3 Prison" for recordings that were originally recorded in Widescreen (i.e., at 16:9.)
Am I living in a Fool's Paradise, or what?
(P.S. The ROXIO documentation offers NOTHING useful about this topic I am Very Grateful for the comments of tsantee on this thread...)
Me - using E-V-To-D-for-Mac (1.0.5) to capture video on:
Apple MacBook Pro "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 13" Mid-2010 (MC374LL/A - MacBookPro7,1 - A1278)
running Mac OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
---
and all video editing done on:
Apple Mac mini "Core i7" 2.3 (Late 2012) (MD388LL/A - Macmini6,2 - A1347 - 2570)
running Mac OSX 10.9.5 (Mavericks)
(Note: This configuration has experienced No Other Problems while transferring many videos, other than the obnoxious Black Bars on either end of the widescreen videos...)
