#wskigrl
Using VHS to DVD 3 Plus; is it possible to save or convert the movie to a .wmv file? I use Windows Movie Maker to create "memorial videos" and I can't seem to use the videos that I have captured.
bimicher
Have you already captured the video? Why do you want to convert and why are you using Windows Movie Maker?
#wskigrl
I want to convert to upload to Facebook/YouTube - I use Movie Maker to add music to videos and photos to a video that I then burn to a DVD. I also use Movie Maker to splice the video to the parts I want. The "Plus" I supposedly purchased (it says it on the box and dvd) doesn't have these options. It is nice and easy to copy from VHS to DVD...but I want to do more.
#wskigrl
So, I just played with it some more... I have to use the Record and Edit; but it is not very clean. In other words, you can't FF and RW while to the place you want to start copying - it looked like I could, but it wasn't working. But, now I know I can change it to record to my computer as a wmv and then use my software to cut it.
Jim_Hardin
It is a simplified program to do a specific task hence, Easy VHS to DVD... Some people find it more complicated than they hoped for, the majority think it is just right, and some want it to be a non-linear editor But in the end, no one makes a Click and Smile product Record in clips and combine them. Record the whole and split and trim what you don't want. Give up all edits and use Record DVD which has pause so you can FF.
#wskigrl
Yes, thank you Jim. I tested recording through the Edit icon and chose the option to record to my hard drive. It recorded and saved as a wmv file and now I can edit at my own will... I like that option much better! I realized the software I purchased was not an "all in one stop"; but did have a specific need.
Jim_Hardin
It only 'records' as an mpg. If you got an WMV file out of it, it because you chose to Export to that format, which is what you wanted but those are the technical terms Keep in mind that if you ever want to move up to the Creator NXT Editors, that the EVD 3 device can be used with that Suite.
