Encryption With Ntx 3 Pro

Looking for instructions on how to set up passwords or encryption when burning data or DVD disk.

Hello,

 

You can't require passwords or encryption on a Video-DVD. There is no way a player could prompt you for the password.

 

Now that Creator Classic has been removed from the Creator suite (Creator 2012 was the last version to have it) the only way you can encrypt data discs in NXT 3 is with Roxio Secure Burn.

 

Locate the Roxio Burn icon at the bottom right of your screen

 

Right-click the visible part of the disc and then click on Options in the menu that pops up

 

In the Options menu which appears, check the drive you want to use, and check the box to enable password protection, then click OK.

 

When you have dragged your data onto the disc icon and clicked the yellow burn button a dialog box pops up to collect your password

 

Fill that in, and click the Burn Disc button, et voilà! Your files will be encrypted and burned. To retrieve them, a user will have to insert the disc and enter the password when prompted.

Brendon ~ quick question since I have never tried it with Secure Burn

 

When you have a disc with password, does it have to then decode the entire disc to your HDD after you enter the password??? (that is how it worked when we had Creator Classic)

Jim,

 

The user's files are held on the disc in encrypted .BIN files, one .bin file per burn session. No, it decrypts to the HD only the file(s) you select.
