Since you haven't said what you're doing to try and capture audio, I have to guess a lot. It will probably be best if I tell you how I do it, and you can find the equivalent on your system. You may see what you're doing wrong or missing out.

I guess you're using Roxio Easy Audio Capture [Capture Audio from Sound Card]. If so, you should see your audio card in the top left box "Capture From"

Next to that box is one labeled "Input". When I click the drag-down arrow at the right end of that box I see a choice of inputs.

Choosing 'Stereo Mixer' and playing some audio through Windows Media Player I see movement on the left and right channel bars, and I adjust the audio level so it doesn't go too far to the right and distort.

If you're not getting movement here, select different inputs until you find one which works. There's also a button which controls various recording parameters.

Once you have things set up, click the red Record button and start your audio.

The volume slider at the bottom left controls speaker volume so you can monitor while you're capturing.

Click Stop when finished. At that point you can elect to send your capture to the Sound Editor if you wish.

How did it go?

Thanks for you help. I am using Creator NXT3 & Creative SBX-Fi I m trying to capture audio from both he internet & from internal sources.

None of the options you speak of appear to be present. I cannot find an "input" option.

In operation sound level bars do not move & payback is silent.

Thanks for your help, but I am sill lost.

Are you saying there isn't an Input box in the area I've put red around?? Or what?

-Does your Creative card show in the 'Capture From' box?

-can you hear audio out of your speakers?

Don't worry Bob. We'll try to find you. :)

No, there is no "Input" box in the easy capture window. There was not one in my prior version of Roxio either.

Yes my sound car is shown in the capture box. "what you hear" (Creative SBX-Fi)

Every thing else woks fine. Speakers loud and clear. I can capture using "Line In" from my turn-table. Audit mixer is fine. Mike records clear as a bell.

As far as I can determine, only the capture from sound card does not work.

More I know not. Thanks, Bob
