Roxio Hd Gamecap Not Working

I have it connected by HDMI, one into my PS3, one into my TV. When I open the capture software the picture and audio on both the tv and the capture software start for a little bit and then just goes black and a low frequency noise plays for as long as the preview is up. I don't know what info I should provide but if I'm missing anything just tell me.

More info that I forgot: when I don't have the preview capture software open everything displays just fine on the TV

You've given us enough info. If you look at the setup instructions, they show a specific picture for the PS3, which uses Component cables (Red, Green, Blue, plus the red/white audio connections) and not the HDMI cables. The issue is that the PS3 outputs HDCP (copy protection) which can't be turned off, and the RGC HD Pro can't record that signal. Thus the requirements to use the setup as shown below.

If I recall correctly, you can use the Component signal cables into the RGC HD Pro from your PS3, and then use the HDMI output to your TV.
