Roxio Game Cap No Signal. Please Help!

STG

Question

I've had my ROXIO Game Capture for about 2 years now. It's worked fine. Not the best quality...but it worked. Now, I'm trying to record gameplay from my PS2. I've double checked the cables, made sure the PS2 was on the correct Display settings, tried all USB ports on my laptop, used the disc and clicked 'Repair', also clicked 'Remove' and installed it over again and again, even tried a 3rd party software (VirtualDub), and I keep getting no signal. Black screen. Please, someone tell me what is happening. I need this to start working so I can get footage.

My No Signal color is green.

VERY important information!!!

That means that the RGC Device itself is not being seen by the Software!

This could be the Cable - the USB Port on your PC - the USB Port on the RGC Device or any combination of those 3...

It can also indicate that the Driver was never installed properly.

The USB part is easy, try a different cable and try all the USB Ports you have as well as make sure the one on the RGB device is not damaged.

The Driver is pretty easy too. Just follow these Exact Steps:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

In the end you want to see a Red 'No Signal' or (best) a Green 'Ready' for the status ;)

You did not assure me that you are using Component and not Composite? Always best to answer ALL the questions and not just pick and choose!

Yes. I changed it from RBG to component. Everything shows up on my TV, just not the software. It says No Signal.

"RGB" is Component!

The Roxio only works with a Component signal not the Composite that most people would use (Yellow/Red/White)

Another clue is the Color of the No Signal. If it is RED it mean there is not a valid signal reaching the RGC Device ;)
