Portrait Oriented Photos Are Turned Sideways (Landscape) In Slideshow

I just updated to 12.1 from 10 yesterday and am attempting to make a hybrid disc with a video and slideshow as well as include the original photos on the disc. My problem is that some, not all of my vertically oriented photos (portrait) are turning 90 degrees sideways. My customers will not like this. Can anyone help? Thanks. MacBook Pro running 10.9.5.

It may be that you need to export the correctly oriented photos from your photo library application before adding them to Toast.
