Roxio Game Cap Refusing To Work Properly. Please Help!

I've been using this ROXIO Game Cap for a solid year now. It's been giving me problem after problem. I've recorded footage for it before. Now it just won't work no matter what I do. I re-installed the software, God knows how many times. Even clicked rapir a few times. The Roxio capture software keeps saying "No Signal" or it'll spam windows saying "Script Error" every 5 seconds. I even grabbed my aunts laptop which has higher specs than mine and installed it twice. It still wouldn't work on that. I tried downloading the Roxio Service Pack Update for the software, but when I try to install it, it will say "Software not found" or something along those lines. It keeps thinking I don't have the Roxio software installed after re-installing it multiple times. I'm running out of options here. I've even tried a 3rd party capture software, Virtualdub. It will recognize that I have the Roxio plugged in, but when I click on it, it will just show a black box then freeze.

 

Someone please help! I have to get footage very very soon!

The connections on the RGC unit should be PS3 to the IN and the OUT goes to the TV . ( Download Setup Guide ).

 

 

 

Please confirm:

Plug the Roxio USB into your computer, open up your Device Manager - Sound video and game controllers and verify that you have the 2 Roxio GAMECAP entries.

Well, I switched the PS3 cables from OUT to IN and vise-versa with the RGC cables.

In device manager, I do have 2 Roxio GAMECAP entries.

When I open the capture software, a window pops up that says, "Unknown Capture Error" then gives me the green No Signal.

I have the Roxio cables plugged into the TV, the opposite side plugged into the capture device, then my PS3's component cables connected to the other side of the Roxio. The Roxio's cables are plugged into the "IN" side and the PS3 cables are plugged into the "OUT" side.

I've tried multiple people. One who specializes in YouTube gaming content, one who owns a Roxio and has the exact same problem, and one who records footage of his own.

You need to invite someone over to work with you on this.

 

They don't have to be an "expert" but the advantage if Two Heads better than One will not be lost

I just tried disabling my anti-virus, turning my firewalls off, and clicking repair from the disc. I tried loading it up and it tells me "Unknown Capture Error".

Yes, I tried in that thread. That was for my PS2. I still haven't gotten it to work with my PS2 yet. Now I can't get it to work with my PS3.

Nothing to do with the software.

 

Either no signal is reaching the RGC Device or the connection is not reaching the computer...

 

That leaves a lot of things to be tested but you can put away your disc.

Just tried putting the disc in and repairing. Then tried re-installing.

Red = no valid signal is reaching the RGC Device

 

Green = the RGC Device is not being seen by the software

 

HOW is your PS3 Connected to the RGC.

 

Make sure your PS3 is SET to a specific output and never left to 'autosense'.

My No Signal color changes between red and green. Mostly red on my computer. When I used my aunts laptop, it was green.

 

I'm trying to capture my PS3. I've already set it to 1080i instead of 1080p.

What are you hooked up to (game console)?

 

How?

 

Generally, the RGC Device only works with Roxio's Capture software...
