Purchased Toast 14 Pro - But Seem To Have Gotten Toast 14 Titanium?

bengedlow

Question

I just purchased and downloaded Toast 14 Pro. When I look at my installed apps ... I only see Toast 14 Titanium. So I open it, and sure enough ... there seems to be no way to burn a Blu-Ray.

Have I missed something? I'm registered with a Toast 14 Pro ... and I don't see any Toast 14 Pro in my Applications, only the Titanium?

Anybody able to help me here?

Ben

Go to the Toast Help menu and activate the Blu-Ray plugin. There is no app called Toast Pro. It is the same as the standard except the Blu-Ray plugin is ready for activation and it comes with installers for 3rd-party apps.

Hi tsantee,

I open Toast (Titanium). I go to the Help Menu. The 'Activate Blu-Ray disc Authoring' is greyed out. In fact everything is greyed out except ... 'Toast Titanium Help' which takes me to FAQ page online, which didn't seem to be much help.

Could I be missing something here?

I spent a long frustrating day with Adobe Encore yesterday ... which has some serious logic gaps ... and, in my case, missing content - like 90% of the templates are missing. Even after a re-install, and an install of 1 gig of 'Content'. Not a happy camper I am. This is the reason I bought Toast.

All ears,

Ben

Apologies taste,

There is an opening pop-up page with Titanium ... which looks like the app (if one has never used the app before). With the pop-up page all the menu functions are greyed out. I wonder how many times people get confused with the Blu-Ray authoring options, given this odd pop-up first page.

Perhaps you could help me a bit further. Is Titanium Pro able to give me a real full blown Blu-Ray? I notice they do a hybrid version. Which makes me nervous. And, while I'm asking, can I customize my menu? I was under the impression this was possible, but playing with it briefly yesterday it seemed like it was based on templates, without a lot of customizing possibilities ... popping in my own graphics, text, buttons?

I'm only asking because I have to deliver a just-completed film in Blu-Ray form today. I managed to make a version in Encore ... which plays on my computer, but which I need a Blu-Ray player to test. If it doesn't work I will have to scramble to create another in very short order.

See my post here. http://forums.suppor...lugin-toast-14/

Same problem, except that I have a registered version of Toast 12 pro with the plugin. There appears to be something about the plugin not working. I did send a PM to Rox-ralf and he read it at 10:20pm last night. Have not heard back from him so I'm guessing that he is checking this out.

You may want to do the same.

bengedlow, the Toast 14 Pro registration key enables the Blu-ray activation in the Help menu. The Toast 14 Pro download also has Pro in the file name. You also should see installers for the other Pro-verion bundled apps in the mounted download. If you mistakenly bought the standard version you can get a refund and do a new purchase of the Pro version. If they gave you the standard download when you ordered the Pro version you need to take this up with customer support or get a refund.

The issue bohalloran has is something I'm trying to check out. I'm suspecting that Toast 14 standard is not recognizing a Toast 12 Pro Blu-ray authorization because the plugin was not installed separately with its own registration key. I don't know if I can determine this because I did install a Toast 11 Blu-ray plugin with a separate registration key which may get recognized when I try installing Toast 14 standard. I'm afraid that the solution is to buy Toast 14 Pro or purchase the separate plugin.

Hi DG,

My problem was intellectual sloth. But if my problem is something that comes up often enough, Toast might want to make a little tweak to the pop-up menu that is the first thing we see when we open the app. It looks like an app to the uninitiated. But all the menu items are greyed out. So no authorizing is possible. It was only when I clicked through this pop-up and realized I was NOW in the actual app ... then I found the menu items were active and I was able to authorize. All is well. Thank you for responding so quickly.

I sure hope that Roxio would offer more than for me, (as well as all those who previously purchased Toast 12 pro), to purchase the plugin. You are correct in that when I purchased Toast 12 pro, I d/l it and installed it. The install included the plugin automatically, no separate key for the plugin was provided. I would hope that if it can't be fixed through an update to Toast 14, then it seems reasonable to me that Roxio should allow me, (and anyone else who purchased Toast 12 pro), to d/l the plugin w/o charge. We shall see.

I hope I'm mistaken in my assumption and I agree that you shouldn't need to spend more to get the Blu-Ray capability you already paid for with Toast 12 Pro.
