Popping Noise In Recorded Audio Easy Vhs To Dvd 3 Plus

Recommended Posts

I have been using Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus to convert my VHS tapes to DVD. So far I have recorded about fifty to sixty hours of tapes. After I recorded the first twenty to thirty hours, I began hearing a popping noise in the audio when the recording first started. The noise was captured in the recording. When it first stared, the noise would last only a few seconds and then fade away. I was able to work around it for a while, but it gradually got worse. It now continues throughout an entire recording.

I tried lowering the volume recording level to eliminate the noise. I was able to get It low enough to eliminate the noise, but it was so low that the playback volume was barely audible even when adjusted to its highest level. I uninstalled and reinstalled all software. This had no effect. I have been using a VHS/DVD combo player for recording. I have two other players from which I tried recording. The noise remains consistent regardless of which player I use. I suspect the problem is in the video capture device, but I am not knowledgeable enough to determine if this is in fact the case. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have to help resolve this problem before I invest in a new video capture device.
