Iso, Mp3 & Vob?

Question

Hello all, just had a few questions I need answered before I pull the trigger on this software. Can it burn ISO's and rip DVD to an ISO? Can it rip music to MP3 and convert MP3's to WMA or other formats? Is there any type of DVD maker with menus? Can it handle VOB's?

I think I know the answer to one of the questions but can't seem to find any answer to the others.

Thanks in advance!

Yes - No - Yes - Limited - Yes...

You don't really give any details so you cannot really expect any detailed answers -_-

Just remember that Roxio products don;t allow you to copy or edit any copy protected sources.

Thanks for the replies...

Jim...if it can't rip to MP3 then what formats does it rip to? Also I assume your answer of limited pertains to DVD creation with menus. I'm a fairly advanced PC user so I don't need complex answers.

sknis...I never expected it to...lol

Thanks guys!

Easy CD & DVD Creator has both the Standard and the Advanced Ripper. It can rip to MP3 and other formats from CDs in multiple drives.

Fozman: If you intend to do very much in Video, spring for the NXT series... While you have 80 Menu choices and can create Chapter Menus you cannot edit anything and there are limitation on what you can import!

To get any versatility you will end up stringing together a bunch of 3rd party programs to do what you need. These generally will cause loses whereas the whole thing can be done in the NXT Suite seamlessly -_-

I have little experience in the Audio... Brendon is right there are some choices there, but I can not compare the Red Box features to what is available in NXT. Someone want to take on that one? :D

I think there's less confusion if we take the time to give a less-cryptic reply where needed:

Can it burn ISO's and rip DVD to an ISO?

Yes

Can it rip music to MP3 and convert MP3's to WMA or other formats?

Yes. It has the Roxio Ripper, the Advanced Ripper, and Roxio Audio Converter. They can handle these filetypes at various bitrates.

Is there any type of DVD maker with menus? Can it handle VOB's?

Yes, it has Roxio MyDVD 14 from the parent suite Creator 2012. However this version has been deliberately crippled so it can't handle some of the more popular video formats such as MP4, and some of the more popular audio compressors such as AC3 audio.

e.g. Here's the input filetypes list from Creator 2012 (top) compared with the reduced list (bottom) from this cheaper software.

Hope this helps,

Brendon

But that is misleading!

It cannot do ANY HD clips regardless of file type:

Results?

You mentioned MP4 format and these were even taken as SD but don't even show:

These formats are common today and used by most cell phones!

And, mentioned earlier, it cannot rip any commercial DVD Movie nor allow any editing of DVD Movies including a simple trim...

It is a good program for simple needs but the program has not kept up since its Creator 2012 roots of 4 versions ago

Yes, I said "However this version has been deliberately crippled so it can't handle some of the more popular video formats such as MP4,"

Thank you for going to such lengths, with screen-shots and all, to agree with me.
