Having purchased a copy of Roxio Creator NXT3 Pro which installed and licensed properly on a Win7 to Win10 upgrade I thought it important enough to share why my 10-yr old copy of Roxio Creator 10 would not work after the !in7 to Win10 upgrade. Creator10 has more than provided me value having been installed and used through the many Microsoft o/s releases...including Window XP, Vista, Win7, Win8, Win8.1 but NOT the new Windows10 Pro 64-bit Upgrade. Turns out this FREE Microsoft upgrade to Win10 Pro will NOT bring over all the Creator10 app typical of a freshly installed Creator10. Symptom was each time I clicked the Creator10 app it would appear but refuse to recognize both my Asus DVD burner and Pioneer Blu-ray burner. Frustration galore!
Long story short, you must "new" install Creator 10 onto a "clean" install of Windows 10 Pro in order for Creator10 to function correctly. NXT3 Pro however will install on either a upgraded win7 to win10 o/s as well as a "new" installed Win10 Pro. I now know I can use either Creator10 or NXT3 Pro...both work however NXT3 Pro has more enhancements and "bells and whistles". I am still getting acclimated to using this new Win10 Pro o/s however, this new Microsoft o/s is definitely a keeper. For those who have issues with any of the Roxio products you should seriously consider re-installing Roxio on NOT a upgraded o/s but a "clean" o/s install just to eliminate all uncertainty before spending unwarranted money on a newer version of Roxio. BTW, the same downloaded Win10 Pro iso upgrade allows you to install a "clean" versus upgrade provided you definitely have a legitimate copy of Win7/Win8/Win8.1
Hope this update saves us Roxio customers needless frustration and expense!
