Oriox
Hi all, So I've created a simple .dmsd project with a couple of menus. Rather than burn to disc, is there a way to convert this so that it can be played on pc's, phones etc? I currently have Roxio 2011. Many thanks in advance. bimicher
You can "burn" the project to a folder set or an iso image file which you can then play on a PC software player such as VLC. The menu may not work correctly though. Another option is to Export As (Output) to one of the many video formats. BTW, a dmsd file is not a video file but only a "roadmap" of how to assemble your project and burn it. It contains no video wahtsoever and therefore cannot be converted to another format. Oriox
Hi myguggi, Many thanks for replying and my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I understand what you are saying so thanks for the info. What I am trying to achieve is this. When burning a project to DVD, it is formatted in such a way that you can click/navigate through menus and select clips etc. I would like to achieve the same concept but as, say, a file format which can be played on a PC with the same functionality as if it were burned on a DVD. Is this possible? Many thanks again for your feedback.
Ingeborg Nordén
The only file format that works like a DVD, as far as I know, is a disk image (.iso file). As long as your device has a program which can mount and read disk images like the real thing. you should be able to play the files. Just use the Burn Project option to create an.image from the .dmsd data (choose the second checkbox when the options come up). Best of luck!
