Product Key Not Valid? Split From Unrelated Topic

undewill

Question

Is there a difference in activating NXT pro 2 between a digital-river dvd and a retail dvd?

My product code is not working, says "the product key you entered is not valid, please re-type your product key"

I copied the key right from the back of the dvd case, as well as the email from digital river, and even the website for what it shows as my registered copy.

I am attempting to reinstall from a system failure, and I don't know if this is a one use code (I hope not) or some other issue.

If Rox-Rolf doesn't reply, what is the alternative? (given that I PM him last week and have not had a reply yet)

This Topic is getting close to A YEAR OLD for a product that was discontinued 2 years ago

Ralf will reply but you have to give him time - Roxio Support is not a Microwave and he lives on the other side of the Date Line.

There isn't anything we can do. This Topic was Split and I don't recall what Brendon wrote. Maybe he will see it tonight (another date liner) remember and re-post his advice ;)

I don't know if it applies but NXT2 is NOT Win 10 Certified.

You lost your CD Key or your getting this when you enter the key ("the product key you entered is not valid, please re-type your product key")?

Okay, I'll stick to answering your questions. :)

  • You registered your software so signing in you can recover the CD Key and have it?

Yes

  • If you use that CD-Key it tells you ""the product key you entered is not valid, please re-type your product key" correct?

Yes

  • I'm not sure and can't remember if Enterprise was a valid OS but you say it was installed and running?

Yes

  • Is your NXT2 regular or Pro version?

Regular

No that has nothing to do with the reset, however the advice Brendon outlined in Post #4 to contact Rox-Ralf is valid.

Do that and he will fix you up ;)

You lost your CD Key or your getting this when you enter the key ("the product key you entered is not valid, please re-type your product key")?

My organisation purchased the software on-line, so there's no CD key to lose. We stored the licencing information (along with the downloaded install files) on a network drive.

When I've accessed my profile on Roxio is shows the same licencing information (from when I registered the software).

We've re-imaged the PC because of a hardware failure.

I've copied the install files onto the C: drive and we've bypassed the proxy as well as shutdown both the firewall and virus-checker when we're trying to install.

The machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

I can get a report for the stats on the machine, but it's fully capable of running the software (and has been without issue since installation).

The software was purchased on 21 July 2014.

On attempting installation, I was getting exactly the same error message.

I registered the product and tried on a few occasions over the next few weeks to install it. I then went to log a job and discovered that I needed to register separately for product support (I think was free for about 2 weeks, then it was a subscription-based support).

I finally registered for product support on 18 September 2014.

As soon as I registered the product, I attempted to install the software again to get screen shots for the job I was about to register. At that point I discovered the licence key had become valid, so I no longer needed to log a job.

The only difference was we then had an active product support account. I checked on the forums back then and apparently this was not an unusual occurrence.

That option is obviously unavailable - never mind we've used up the free period, Jim Hardin reports above that support for the product was discontinued about two years ago (which is odd, as that was when we purchased it).

System requirements for NXT2.

Microsoft Windows 8, Professional (32- or 64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate (32- or 64-bit), Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 (32- or 64-bit), Windows XP SP3 (32-bit).

Is your NXT2 regular or Pro version?
