ddh
I have Creator NXT Pro. The new Creator NXT Pro 4 is being offered for $99.99. Does the new version offer enough changes to pay $99.99 for it. It is correct to assume that all of the programs created on my current version will run without problems on the new version. ddh
I read the posts you suggested and I will stay with Creator NXT Pro. It is a good program. I upgraded from the Creator NXT3 because I bought a new Video camera and NXT3 did not have the new cameras format. Creator NXT Pro is a good program and since I have learned how to use it I enjoy it more. I only use it to create DVD's with photos and videos and it produces very find DVD's and I also use the copy option to copy the DVD's I have created. I use the PhotoSuite to make photos better and add other features.
sknis
am somewhat confused by what you posted"....and I will stay with Creator NXT Pro. It is a good program. I upgraded from the Creator NXT3 because I bought a new Video camera and NXT3 did not have the new cameras format." So are you talking about upgrading to MXT4 or are you talking about downgrading to NXT (1) Pro? Here are the instructions for the NEW MYDVD that is in NXT 4. mydvd.pdf
ddh
I originally had Creator NXT3 and I upgraded to Creator NXT Pro on 12-17-12.
sknis
I originally had Creator NXT3 and I upgraded to Creator NXT Pro on 12-17-12. NXT and NXT Pro ---> NXT 2 and NXT 2Pro ---> NXT 3 and NXT3 Pro ---> NXT4 and NXT4 Pro ! See where the confusion comes in? The way i read it, you had the standard NXT3 and then bought the older but more feature rich NXT PRO is that correct?
d_deweywright
That date doesn't work for NXT 3. According to this article, NXT 3 and NXT 3 Pro were announced on 11/12/2014. So, I'm guessing ddh actually went from NXT (or an even earlier edition) to NXT Pro.
Brendon
Marose announced NXT 3 on 7 November 2014, so only the original Creator NXT and Creator NXT Pro would have been available in December 2012. DDH, to clear up confusion when talking about NXT, you need to mention the version number, and whether it's Pro or not. Regards, Brendon
ddh
I dug out all of the paperwork on what I bought and when. Jim_Hardin
Back to your original question, a qualified Yes... Brendon
I have Creator NXT Pro. The new Creator NXT Pro 4 is being offered for $99.99. Does the new version offer enough changes to pay $99.99 for it. I would say "No". The new version has had its abilities reduced in some areas - MyDVD is a mere shadow of its former self, and won't even install under Windows XP. Unless you see some added abilities in the new version which are worth that purchase price, I would suggest you stay with what you have until you are forced to change. cdanteek
On 9-14-11, $99.99, I downloaded Roxio Creator 2012 - ESD Hang on to that one!
ddh
cdanteek - I don't have the "Roxio Creator 2012 - ESD" anymore. Is it better then Roxio Creator NXT-PRO, Version 14.0.36.5.0.0.0"? I looked for it in my computer and it is not in there, so I must have deleted it at some time. I did not buy a disc, I just downloaded it. Could it do everthing that "Roxio Creator NXT-PRO, Version 14.0.36.5.0.0.0" can do. ? Is that why you said to keep it. Brendon - Thank you for your insight on the new Creator NXT Pro 4. Why did they change it.? Are there other programs like Roxio that are for sale?.. Are the other programs better on DVD creating or are they all alike?
cdanteek
Modules like Creator Classic and other things started to disappear after C2012. Why I advised you I would keep it.
Brendon
Brendon - Thank you for your insight on the new Creator NXT Pro 4. Why did they change it.? Are there other programs like Roxio that are for sale?.. Are the other programs better on DVD creating or are they all alike? A shame if you've lost Creator 2012. I think it was the best version in recent years. I don't know why peple change things. Perhaps it happens because the staff has changed, or somebody thinks that "less is more". There are many different burning programs of all sizes, prices, and abilities available out there. Finding one that suits you is tough. I would suggest since you've spent good money on the good software you have, that you stick with that software unless and until you need something it can't provide for you, or you change your computer so that the software can't run on it any more. Otherwise you can spend a lot of money just finding software that sucks. Regards, Brendon
sknis
You will have to do some research on NXT 4 Pro to make a decision. Only you know what you used Nxt Pro to do (video, audio, etc) Some of the new features are really Corel products (perhaps not the newest version). Some are updates for newer formats. There is a new, easier light weight version of MyDVD that removes many of the features of the version you have. Check out some of the posts in the NXT 4 part of the forum.
