Missing Menu Options In Project

I will try to explain this the best I can.

I don't know what to call the name of the buttons or title name that allow you to start a viewing of the

photos or videos when you perform a "Preview Project".

I have a project that I created several years ago and I brought it up in Roxio and the buttons

or titles that I would click on "Photos" or "Video" to start the viewing of the photos or videos

are missing.

If I do a preview project and click "Enter" it will start showing the photos.

But no menu choices are shown, I think the viewing options are there but just not visible because I can hit enter in the preview project option and the photos will start showing.

I hope I have explained this well enough for you to help me get back or reinstall the two menu options

of photos and videos.

I have search trying to find the answer to this problem I created for myself and not bother you with

it but I have been unable to find the solution.

Perhaps it is time to start your project over. Your old project is corrupt if it does not show the menu anymore

 

 

 

To add an image to your post read post #5 in this thread

 

To add the dmsd to your post, add ".txt" after the dmsd in the file

 

Then to add the dmsd file to your post, do the same as for the image file

I am going to take the suggestion you made on making it over in the Creator NXT PRO.

make a copy of the Leo.dmsd project file just in case and add ".xml" to the filename (=Leo.dmsd.xml). Right click on the copy (in Windows Explorer) and Open With Internet Explorer. You can then search for whatever you want

 

 

If you search for Roxio you should find a reference to "Roxio Creator 2012" (for the BlueSilver menu style)as well as a reference to "Roxio Creator NXT" (for various transitions and effects).

 

Perhaps you can "update" the menu style so that it uses the menu style from the NXT version. I have no idea if that will work.

 

The problem is that Roxio has the bad habit of not making project files compatible over different versions. That means that 1) you should always finish a project in the same program or 2) you have to basically start over after upgrading to a new version.

I bought Roxio Creator 2012 on 9-11-11.

My son's cat died on 2-8-2012

I bought Roxio Creator NXT PRO on 12-17-12

 

You are correct, it was created on Roxio Creator 2012.

That has to be the reason that the "photo and video" is missing.

I have one last question, how did you get the infomation

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio 2012\VideoUI\Content\DVD\4x3\Themes\c12_BlueSilver.dmsd".

I would think that the only way you could have seen it was in the txt download.

Is that the only way I can see what creator a program would be created on?

Did you have Roxio Creator 2012 installed at one time? If yes did your create the project in C2012?

 

Your dmsd file shows a reference to a menu file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio 2012\VideoUI\Content\DVD\4x3\Themes\c12_BlueSilver.dmsd".

 

If you now have Roxio NXT then of course the reference to "...Roxio 2012.." is invalid and may be causing you the problems.

 

Have you tried to start a new project and do you still have the same problems?

In the preview menu I clicked on enter and the photos started to run.

When I created this DVD I had the Photo and Video name in there, somehow they

were deleted or something else happened.

I also tried to download the "dmsd" file and it said I could not download that kind of file.

It certainly looks like you project file has been corrupted

Is this what you see after you open your "old" project?

Not sure 'what buttons' you are after???

 

In MyDVD and on the actual DVD you burn you could be referring to the Menu Buttons??? In that case you only get One Button per VideoWave file or video clip you add...

 

If you mean 'Chapter Buttons' where you go into that Project/Clip and set the Chapter Points, that is how you get them.

Roxio - Creator NXT PRO

First - Create DVD

Second - MyDVD.

Third - DVD

I thought when you said program you meant version, thank you for explaining that to me.

I am sure that I used the NXT Pro to create the DVD that I will burn.

You really did not answer any of Jim's question. You still have not told us what program in NXT Pro you are using although I have feeling it is myDVD (Create DVD)

 

You state you pulled up a project you started years ago. Did you start that project with NXT Pro?
