Kuma
I have built a videowave file with about 1700 images and put music to the entire production. When I try to output as a videofile it comes back VideoWave not responding. Is there a limit to the size of the file?
cdanteek
Is there a limit to the size of the file? How long in time is your project? What format are you exporting it to and what quality?

Kuma
I deleted all the music and just have the pictures. there are approximately 1700 pictures. When I do the output as--to video file--it still says "Videowave has stopped working" The file size without music is 5.24 mb I do not say any time when outputting. What is the name and the format of the output file? That file size does not seem correct for a video file containing 1700 pictures. Even if you only showed each picture for 1 second that would be about 30 minutes which would equate to file size of around 2.2GB assuming you created a mpg file at best quality. grandpabruce
1700 photos, even at 3 seconds a photo, makes for a 1hr. 25 minute production. At that rate, the pictures would be flying by so fast, no one could focus on them. Your 5.37 ,whatever it is, is bogus.

Kuma
The goal is to play the file on the tv with music accompanying the pictures. I made a very small file and it works. I have a smart tv and I send the file from the pc over the network using Samsung link.
cdanteek
Is there any video format required for the Samsung Link? You've tried 'Purpose' All, 'Video File Quality' Mpeg 2 For DVD Best Quality? Try using a smaller number of pics and no menu and see if videowave completes it. Kuma
I did a small file that was about 1 hour and 5 minutes with music and it worked fine streaming it to the Samsung. I guess VideoWave won't let me do the 1700 pictures with music and the pictures were set to 3 secs. But what I cannot understand is when I try to do the 1700 pictures without music, it still stops responding?
cdanteek
Are all the pics the same size and quality, came from same source?
Kuma
Different sizes. They were all originally scanned or digital.
cdanteek
Different sizes. They were all originally scanned or digital. One or more of the 1700 seems to be a problem that's causing this. I would separate them by sizes run them through videowave and see where the trouble is. bimicher
Why would you want to create an almost 3 hour long slideshow video? Do you expect anybody to watch it for that length of time? Why not make several smaller files? You can always join them to make the final video file
Kuma
Good point. It is nice to have them all on one file and displayed on the TV with music. We are not sitting there watching continuously, but we can hear the music and when in the room with the tv see the pictures.
Kuma
Ok! I broke the number of picture files in half, added music and it all works. Made 2 files rather than 1, therefore the problem looks like it has to do with file size? Thanks to all for your input.

Any reason why you are rendering to "lower" quality video if you have an HD TV available? What is the lowest and highest resolution of your images
