Copy And Convert Video - Web Video

Hi

 

I recently purchased NXT 4 Pro physical copy and I was wondering what I need to do to get Copy and Convert Video Web Video to work?

 

The OS system I have is Windows 10 Pro with

 

Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHZ

 

RAM 16GB

 

64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

 

GeForce GTX 750

 

I hope someone here can give me some idea of what is wrong because it didn’t work for me on Windows 7 Pro either! So I never bother trying then because I had so much on my old computer that I thought there might have been a conflict with it and another program on my computer at the time!!!

 

I also downloaded QuickTime 7.7.8 to see if that would help with it too but no luck!

The Web Capture in Copy and Convert hasn't worked as advertised since it came out.

Not all video on the web is available to capture some has built in anti copy.

I am jumping in here because I have the exact same problem with newly purchased Creatornxt 4 AND Roxio 11. I purchased the nxt4 BECAUSE Roxio 11 Convert Web Videos function was not working properly. I thought that perhaps You Tube had changed there operation functions and my software was obsolete. However, Creator nxt 4 is doing same thing. Your explanations to Mark from Erie seem plausible to me except Roxio 11 worked when I converted and copied youtube video several months ago. Why then would you say nxt4 has not worked properly since beginning. I can't help but think something else is going on with the software....By the way, I do run a registry cleaner, which was working when I installed nxt4 yesterday. I bought nxt4 for this feature also, so if your comments to Marc also apply to me, then I will return a software that doesn't work. Am I on the correct path or off base and need to create my own topic? Sorry if I goofed!

That application (program) --- not the entire suite of applications (programs) worked for some people some of the time. For me, I was able to capture commercials great - unfortunately that was not what I was after. Did you try the other application -- does that work?

 

If you haven't updated to Windows 10, and if that was the only thing you needed, then get your money back. NXT 4 is the only one listed as compatible with W10.

 

There are many free screen capture programs available now including an add-ons for browsers as given above.

 

Get rid of the registry cleaner ! It does not allow all the libraries to be properly registered and the older versions would "clean" required registry entries. Why do you use a registry cleaner (I was just asking for my benefit).

No idea what you are referring to as, "Roxio 11"??? But if you don't use it anymore and only have NXT 4 just skip the details for that one

 

NXT's, 4 included, came out with a new and much better screen recorder called Record Your Screen!

 

You can set it to what is being played in your Browser or on your monitor. Very flexible.

 

Only drawback we have seen is that it does NOT work with XP and Windows updates in Win 7 can kill it Win 10 seems happy with it.

I am using Windows 7and have no plans to update of Windows 10 on this 6 year old desktop. I only purchased nxt 4 so that I could use the Capture and convert feature, since the Capture and convert feature of my Roxio Creator 11 quit working with the same symptoms.

 

I am thinking that the "registry cleaner" portion of System Mechanics Pro, which I use automatically, may be the culprit, and may be why my older Creator 11 capture and convert feature doesn't work. I don't understand how, but I read something over my head about how the registry cleaner removes something the feature needs, thinking it is an error. That's a "newbie" version of my understanding. If I turn of the registry cleaner and re-install Creator nxt4 will I get back the correct full files it needs.

 

I like the feature of these programs because I understand how to use them and used them often. My grandsons have made youtube videos and I want to burn them to DVD. I'd like to use what I have and not look for other things to learn. I will take a look at the screen capture feature you are recommending and try to understand and use it if you don't think my solution would work.

To test it out I am just using Youtube.com with any video that comes up.

 

1. So I open up NXT

 

2. Youtube.com, making sure that video is set at a fixed resolution

 

3. Cope and Convert

 

and then I would wait until the video is finished to see if it loads itself in Web Video icon and nothing is happening.

Creator versions were numbered from 1 to 10, and then were named Creator 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. After those came Creator NXT; NXT 2, NXT 3 and now NXT 4. There's no such software as Creator 11, It's Creator 2011 you're talking about.

 

Some old versions of Creator, (around version 9,) had troubles with registry cleaners which were too energetic and broke the Creator registry. That registry weakness was fixed quite quickly, and since about Creator 2009 registry cleaners have been quite safe to use in my experience, despite doubts by some folks.

 

Iolo's System Mechanic has always been problematic with Creator installations. I don't think it's their registry cleaning function per se, but the aggressive way their main program blocks parts of the installation and then stops things from operating as they should. I would recommend you dump System Mechanic completely, and use a gentler cleaner such as CCleaner to keep your system tidy.

 

As far as web-capturing goes, YouTube have changed their systems several times, and the web capture feature of Copy & Convert has suffered accordingly.

I would suggest you take the good advice that Jim and Cdanteek have given above about that.

Mark, It is a new application and not part of Copy and Convert. Did you look on the Home page of NXT4 for Live Screen Capture? I don't have NXT 4 installed so I can't post a screen shot.

The last one lists the applications you have open. If I had had YouTube open, it would have been there and a click on it would capture what is playing there.

 

It is a far better capture program than they have ever had before! Give it spin and let us know what you think

Thank you for your informative information. I have been able to save 7-8 computers with System Mechanic, so I will keep it, even if I don't have all of the Roxio Creator 2011 features. I will try to return Creator NXT 4 since it doesn't work as advertised.

 

I did "what I was told to do" and used the Screen Capture feature of NXT4 as directed above and do not like it, however it does work.

How do I find a video on Youtube.com without anti copy on it? Or if you tried Copy and Convert on a video from Youtube.com that worked, can you paste the link here and I will try it with my own copy so I will know that it should work hopefully!

Not a problem. I did this at 'normal viewing' so you can see what is going on. You would likely bump YouTube to Full Screen before starting the capture.

I appreciate your help but I have no problems with Screen Capture! I am trying to sort out Copy and Convert after all that's why I purchased NXT 4 Pro in the first place for Copy and Convert plus others that I know that is working fine!

 

So if you can try the same link again and this time using Copy and Convert for me to see if it's working or not working! And if it's not working I will have to get onto Roxio directly to see if they can resolve the problem for me!

Mark it's been a hit and miss thing since it was first released.

 

If that is what you bought the Software for and it's not working you might want to return the product?

 

Most have found more reliable free capture tool.

 

One I use is Video DownloadHelper here, http://www.downloadhelper.net/
