Usability Question Using Nxt4

Sully57

Question

Hi. Just purchased NXT4 & installed it. When I started playing with it, I noticed you can no longer 'output' a VideoWave creation directly to MYDVD anymore. So, where does one send a VW file to now, so you can include the things that we always used MYDVD for (prior to burning)?

Also - how can I insert a blank slide/picture at beginning of a production, so I can have a text slide on a blank (colored maybe?) background leading off? Thank you!

Our old myDVD is gone and has been replaced by the infantile "new" myDVD - in my opinion a terrible Corel mistake (The same myDVD also comes with VIdeoSTudio X8 and Pinnacle 19)

To insert a color panel, right click on the first panel in the story line and select the correct option from the dropdown menu

You can also drag & drop a picture from the media selector display to anywhere in the timeline/storyline

Hi, I have just started using NXT 4 Pro and I also was confused about the removal of the link from VIDEOWAVE to MYDVD. Despite the help video indicating a MYDVD option from the Output command which seems to have been removed I eventually discovered that the output from VIDEOWAVE (*.mpg file) can be slid across into one of the panels in MYDVD thus achieving the same effect.

I also wanted to replace the audio track in MYDVD with my own track and the background picture both of which I was pleased to see I could still do. However in my 2012 version of Roxio I had been able to alter the length of time that the audio track plays for up to a built in maximum. When I contacted support about this they replied that they had tried to make MYDVD less complex and more user friendly.

I have a possible suggestion to make it more user friendly than it is, by changing the length of the audio track automatically to the length of the user selected replacement track, if necessary, again up to a built in and published maximum.

No the Link is just not for that purpose now...

The Link is to create a file that is acceptable to the new MyDVD since a lot of the capability was removed :o

It is now almost the same as Export As, only the only choices are mpeg and DVD compliant.

Should you want others, such as BD or AVCHD compliant, you can use the drop down selection to pick on of those.

In roxio 2012 videowave I was able to convert my markers into chapters when I moved it into My DVD. Is there anyway of doing this in nxt4 pro ?This new "my dvd" took 4 steps backwards instead of improving anything !

If you read any of the other threads here, you would have know that NXT 4 is far worse than the early days Adaptec/Roxio that came free with a CD or DVD player.

And NO there is not any way to do that in NXT 4 :(

You can create Chapters in NXT 4 but only with Chapter Menus and no control of what happens at the end of Chapter.
