Video Capture Works On Vhs Home Movies In Colour Only

All my colour Vhs camcorder tapes can be captured using Roxio Capture usb and Roxio 10 software.

 

Some older Vhs tapes recorded with a stationary VCR and Black and White camera will playback in the program but cannot be sensed by the capture program.

 

Can someome help.

What if you use the VHS to DVD Software to capture?

 

How are you hooked up to the camcorder?

 

If you connect your camcorder output to a VCR-DVD-BD player and use the pass through output, does it work then?

I am using Windows 7. I am playing back on a Sharp 4 head Hi Fi VCR. Some of the home video on the tape was recorded with a stationary VCR and a black and white camera. Some was recorded with a colour VHS Camcorder. The VCR composite out is hooked up to the VCR Video Capture usb device which is plugged into the usb of my desktop computer running win 7 64 bit. I set the capture software to Roxio usb capture setting. When The tape is played the colour parts light up the ready to capture . hitting capture now records the segment to the hard drive. When the black and white parts are played the ready to capture does not activate. neither does the capture now button.

Right, so the suggestion was to pass the output of your VCR through another device to see if the signal gets boosted any/enough so that the capture device (and software) can pick up the signal. It appears that the sync signal on the black and white tape isn't strong enough for the device to see it, even though it comes through on the preview screen.
