Please Help With My Samsung Tablet Setup!

NoodleEater

Question

Hi! I just got the Roxio to try to mirror my tablet to my laptop. For this, I have also bought a MHL cable for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S to connect the hdmi from my tab to the capture device. When I turn on the roxio software, it gets no signal from the tab, and I know that the MHL cable works since I've tried to connect it directly to a tv monitor.

Pleeeasee help anyone?

haha. I'm sorry. At first the signal was red and it said "no signal". I went out to try and buy a HDMI splitter which made my roxio recognize my tablet. Now the status says "Ready". The thin now is that the preview screen keeps flickering, jumping in and out. Picture, no picture, picture, no picture.

Popping up on the preview screen? Or on your monitor? Or both? Disappearing on one (which?)? or both?

Just like with the regular gaming consoles, you may have to manually set the output resolution on your Samsung tablet. The Roxio Game Capture apparently doesn't let connected devices know what resolutions are available, so the source devices try to guess and keep switching output resolutions, which can cause issues like you're seeing. So find the output settings on your Samsung and force it to something like 720p and see if that fixes the problem.

Just some vague thoughts...

As far as the 1080 vs 720 - you're Samsung is Not putting out 1080. Roxio only shows what it sees...

The flickering or flashes you see are usually from the source trying to handshake with the RGC. Make sure you have it set to a specific output.

vague but something to chew on...
