Create Dvd Says .avi File Was Not Added Because It Can Not Be Edited?

Mark73

Question

Just purchased "easy CD&DVD burning (Red Box) I am using proper DVDs in my HP Tower, I'm running Win 10.

Each attempt to move .avi files to "create DVD" results in the message, "file not added, can not be Edited". Since I only want to burn them to DVD, not edit, why would the program reject the files???.

These .avi file were .mov file which converted just fine and I can run either on my Computer Roxio doesn't do .mov files so what can I do???

The files originated in a Cannon SX50HS and were USB transferred to my Computer as .mov files.

Here is a list of the input filetypes that version 14 claims to handle, compared with the full software,Creator 2012.

Top half of the clip shows Creator 2012, and bottom half shows Redbox version 14 - notice the list has been cut back somewhat. Users regularly report that Easy CD & DVD Burning won't handle all examples of the filetypes it lists.

Both lists contain mov, but I always had problems with that format so I avoid it.

You converted your MOV files to AVI. Both lists show AVI, but you say your Easy CD & DVD Burning software won't accept the AVI files you made. Did your brand-new Windows 10 converter make new types of AVI that this old Roxio software hasn't been designed to handle?

Try converting a MOV file to one of the other common media formats such as WMV or MPG that are shown on the bottom part of my screen-clip, and see if the software will accept it. Please do this soon and let us know how it goes.

Remember that if you bought this software directly from Roxio you can return it within the month for a refund if it's not suitable.

Regards,

Brendon
