Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite - Esd & Windows 10?

Edaphosaurus

Question

I've been using Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite - ESD for years under Windows 7. I have just acquired a new computer and installed Media Creator 10 under Windows 10. Media Creator 10 appears to work okay, but crashes whenever I attempt to search my disk gallery. I downloaded and installed RoxioEasyMediaCreator10.1_FA80AA50R13,exe, but the problem remains. Does this mean Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 is incompatible with Windows 10?

Thanks.

I have a database called My Disk Gallery created by Easy Media Creator 10 that I use to index all the files on my CD/DVDs.

Will Windows 10-compatible Easy CD and DVD Burning product allow me to continue reading from, and adding to My Disk Gallery?

Each indexed disk in My Disk Gallery has three files associated with it: a *.CMT file, a *.DB file, and a *.PRP file.

It's important that my next Roxio product purchase is compatible with my existing index database.

Thanks.

This is a user board not Roxio tech support.

Your EMC10 is eight versions old!

Roxio was bought by Rovi, Sonic, now Corel.

Each company stripped Roxio products out and inserted there simplified modules over the last eight years.

My suggestion would be buy the product from Roxio's website if it doesn't work for you you have a 30 Day like it or return it policy.

We get this all the time.

You upgraded your operating system and the upgrade rendered your OLD software useless!

You never came here and ask that question before so no one here is the bad guy.

The suggestion is still your best option or downgrade your operating system back to W-7, your choice?

Yes, Happy Holidays to you and yours. :)

I just heard from Corel Customer Support. Their response is, "I am sorry to inform you that Easy CD & DVD Burning does not support 'My Disk Gallery' files, nor does it have an equivalent feature. None of our current Roxio products support, or have, this feature."

Fortunately I've found some open source shareware that looks it will enable me to continue burning and cataloging DVDs, however there doesn't appear to be anything yet that will read my old Roxio database. Regarding that legacy database, the good news is that I have installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 on an old Vista machine and it appears to be working fine.

My apologies to the moderators if I came across as confrontational. Easy Media Creator 10 Suite has been my reliable DVD burning and cataloging solution for years, and to suddenly discover that my catalog of 600+ data DVDs (I'm a computer graphics illustrator with many projects to archive) had become obsolete--and inaccessible--was a bit of a shock.
