Stuck At 97%

PTModIT

Question

Hi, I'm ready to burn a dvd but the window that popped up saying Exporting to dvd is at 97%. How long does it take to finish. I waited about a hour. Then cancelled it. I have Windows 10. Easy VHS to DVD3 with all updates installed. Capturing the video went perfect but burning that video to dvd is a issue, Thanks.

The duration of burning DVDs will depend on many factors therefore, there is no specific timeframe. Some of the factors are as follows.

1. Your burner.
depending on the state of your burner, it may take a while if the burner is nearly faulty or dirty.

2. Disc compatibility.
Some discs are incompatible with some burners. Try to use a different brand of disc. Or try a different type (DVD+R , DVD -R, DVD RWs)

3. Outdated drivers.
If your burners drivers are outdated, it may not be able to keep up with the burning process.

4. Processes that are running in the background.
Some processes might be running in the background causing slowdowns in burning.

5. Disc speed or file transfer speed.
The PC might be transferring data to a disc that cannot keep up with the transfer rate or vice versa.

Hi, myguggi and Jim Hardin, Are you replying to Fishingmans post or are you replying to my posts?? Thanks.

Since you never claimed it was a 'bug' looks like we were talking to Fishingmans post. Always a problem when someone butts into a conversation ^_^

A couple of approaches here.

First is to try exporting your Project to Computer. Use the settings which should default to,mpeg 720 X 480 8000 kbps.

When that file is complete, start a New Project and use that file you just created.

Let us know how that works for you ;)

Hi, Is there anyone from this company actually on here to help? I don't want to pay for this item if it won't do the complete job. I did burn the video using Windows Media player, But I don't want to use two separate software to do it, Thanks.

This is a users forum. There is a Roxio emplyee who occasionally pops in but not on technical usage questions

Have you tried first burning to an image file and then burning the file to a DVD? You can play the image file using a software player such as VLC. This will show whether the video is created correctly and saves you from making coasters.

It would have been helpful if you had posted the correct error message instead of "checking something"

Hi, When I click on the BURN button the first window that pops up says ADJUST TRIM POINTS .It goes to 100% completed, The second window that pops up says EXPORTING TO DVD. The blue line goes to 97% and stays there. An hour later it's still at 97%. Then I cancelled it. The manual is not helpful. The video I captured is 1h 11m. All I want to know is should I waited longer than a hour or two to finish exporting. Thanks.

3. Outdated drivers.

If your burners drivers are outdated, it may not be able to keep up with the burning process.

Drivers for your burners are supplied by the operating system I've never seen a update for!

Outdated firmware you flash your drive with gets updated, 2.Click here Firmware HQ - site dedicated to providing you with the latest firmware releases for your optical disc drives.

The video was just over 1 hour long. About 4.2 GB, I captured it from my camcorder, That was no problem. I clicked on BURN and a window popped up.Checking something I can't remember what it said. It went to 100% complete, Then a second window popped up saying EXPORTING TO DVD. It reads to 97% then it stayed there. I waited about 1 hour. Then I cancelled it.

This should be a known issue to Roxio. I have the same issue. I burn a video to a DVD and when it gets to 97% it just hangs there. The DVD drive lite just continually flashes. There's no way to interrupt it. A couple updates ago you could open and then close the DVD drive and it would finish, now that doesn't even work.

I give it 15 to 20 minutes at the 97%. Then I close the program which will eventually release the drive. The DVD is closed and works just fine.

Best I can trace the problem to is a bug in Roxio's software when talking to the DVD drive. I find it's not 100% compatible with the current SATA / RAID controllers.

If you revert to an older SATA / RAID controller software version, the Roxio software will work a bit better. However it probably won't totally fix it.

You never bothered to come back to the earlier Topic you started...

There in NO BUG. What you see is an Error Message and it normally relates to an issue with one of the clips being used.

Remember you used the program for years and never had this happen. So that means something changed recently to cause it

Perhaps the new, small SDD drive you installed???

When I first purchased this product it seem freeze at 97% also. I also gave up then read in a tread to record it to the computer first before burning a disc. I used Window media player to do this. However I had to upgrade my computer and now have window 10 which does not have the ability to burn DVD disc. I have followed all advise on reinstalling roxie etc. I have overcome any problems in capturing the VHS tape and when trying to edit it and burn to disc most times it finalized and I thought I had jumped every hurdle but the first set was burned on window media for window 10 and only is mpeg video. I then tried going back through Roxio and when it slowly finished all that was recorder was a drop of water falling into water with the title and musical background. I have tried downloading other convertible software but it will not accept the VHS format. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,

I have had the same issue, i tried everything, different disks, patches, re - installing the program etc. I contacted support and they came back with this which might help you, it helped me!

Delete temp files.
1.Click on the Windows button and the"R" keys on your keyboard both at the same time.
2. Type %temp% in the RUN command window.
3. Hit Enter and the Temp directory will open.
4. Hit Ctrl+A on the keyboard to Select All.
5. Hit the Delete key and then press OK or hit Enter to the message asking if you are sure you wish to delete.
6. Skip all files that cannot be deleted (there will usually be about 3 to 5 temp files in use by windows at any given time which cannot be deleted).
7. Close out of the temp directory.
8. Empty recylce bin.
9. Restart the computer

Cheers, hope it helps!
