Won't Finish Burning To Disc

Strobe3

Question

Trying to copy approx. 40 min from 8 mm tape to Verbatim 2 hr disc and when approx. 90% has transferred I get this message: error occurred while burning to disc. When I go to details this appears: .\DSBurner.cpp{1478}:***Error 80004005=m_spGraphMgr->StopGrapho. I have no idea what this means. I've ruined 4 DVD-R discs. I'm using Windows XP SP3. Please help

Jim missed the point that 40 minutes is LESS THAN one hour, though I myself do prefer 'record, edit, and save' as it gives me some level of control. Google finds 605,000 hits, so it does not appear vague, though one must weed out hits not related to the product. Vague on Roxio helps us how? I have had problems burning multiple projects in a single session and have ended up restarting the software or rebooting in order to get a disc to work. Rebooting is not a fix, it is a workaround something wrong in what the software is sensing.

Stackii offered zero advice on why burning fails but did offer how to clean out the recycle bin. A totally different topic.

grandpa felt a need to post something to increase his post count as the lack of strobe3 pointing out no one offered a true answer does not mean they did not look and saw useless responses.

I upped my post count in frustration of reading responses that would have been best left out, like this one.

Wow! You forgot your coffee this morning.

Jim missed nothing. The first sentence, of his post, was an FYI. Nothing else.

Stackii was trying to help.

I have no interest, in post count, whatsoever.

I hope that you have a better day tomorrow.

First - a 4.7 GB DVD holds ONE hour of a DVD Movie. The print on the box is bull! A '2 hour' disc would be a 8.5 GB -_-

Believe it or not, that error code is very vague.

You did not detail how you did this so I will outline the best way. Never use the "Record DVD" part of the program!

Always use the Record-Edit-Save! There are more options within it and it has been found to produce the results more consistently ;)

Hi,

Try this

Delete temp files.
1.Click on the Windows button and the"R" keys on your keyboard both at the same time.
2. Type %temp% in the RUN command window.
3. Hit Enter and the Temp directory will open.
4. Hit Ctrl+A on the keyboard to Select All.
5. Hit the Delete key and then press OK or hit Enter to the message asking if you are sure you wish to delete.
6. Skip all files that cannot be deleted (there will usually be about 3 to 5 temp files in use by windows at any given time which cannot be deleted).
7. Close out of the temp directory.
8. Empty recylce bin.
9. Restart the computer

hope it helps.
