Computer Crash When Connecting Device! | Major Issue |

TheDudeOfficial

Question

I have recently picked up my hobby of making gaming videos. I wanted to use the Roxio game capture card to livestream using OBS. I got a new laptop so I downloaded the roxio installer from their official website. Whenever I try and connect the roxio to my computer, it will make the "Device connected" sound. After a few seconds I will here the "device disconnected" sound several times and then my PC crashes and needs to reboot. I find this very weird because the PC I'm using is an MSI with great specs, so I'm assuming this is a driver problem.

*BTW, dont give me that try and reinstall nonsense, tried that loads of times*

Windows 10 Home

Intel core i7-5700HQ CPU 2.70 GHz

8 gigabyte RAM

64 Bit operating system

Nvidia Gforce gtx960M

I have the same problem,

I have the following specs;

nvidia GeForce gtx940m

64- bit system, x64 based processor.

8.00 GB Installed RAM

Intel Core i5-4210H CPU @ 2.90GHz

I have tried;

Roxio Repair

Uninstalling Then Re-installing the software

Switching all Cables

Switching to an older windows 7 (Which I can confirm it used to work on)

Note - No graphics cards have been modded or anything of that sort.

Any suggestions for me?

...same problem??? You have each and everything the OP described?

You didn't say anything about trying all the ports, just different cables.

Was the 'older windows 7' a different PC?

While you answer those, work on this:

Download the SP2 update. Then do these step in order

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the Revo Uninstaller. Then run it in Moderate Mode to remove any traces of Roxio.

Then turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Run the SP2 download.

Don’t do any updates at this time (get it running first)

When the Install completes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Let us know what all that does ;)

Yes I have the same situation,

I get the "Device Connected" , "Device disconnected" about 2-3 times the my computer crashes.

I have used all 3 possible ports on my pc, all with the same result.

The windows 7 was a different computer.

Working on your fix right now, ill update this post once I do.

And you have the exact same computer:

Windows 10 Home
Intel core i7-5700HQ CPU 2.70 GHz
8 gigabyte RAM
64 Bit operating system
Nvidia Gforce gtx960M

And live outside of Rotterdam?

Same means Same, not kinda close ;)

Hopefully the repair will do something.
