There is a fairly limited way... You can change the background and/or you can make an intro movie and use that.

Similarly, if the Theme allows it, you can add a 'Title' to it which is a movie clip or still picture that shows up in the window on the Theme page. Clips will loop.

That is it as far as I know. Maybe some others can cover something I missed ;)

So are the NXT4 features watered down in compared to the NXT 2 or 3? I watched a couple youtube videos and read some on here, but cant seem to find the same or even similar steps here to make a custom menu.

I just want a photo or even just solid color background, nothing "cartoonish", and a basic black font with the titles of the 4 videos I have on the DVD. I didn't really evaluate the software before i purchased, as I assumed this would be a given, or probably would have went another direction...

As long as you don't have Win 10 you can get by with an earlier version of Creator...

For NXT 4 the best I can find is this:

Edit Menu:

Speaker icon controls background volume level:

(note icon at left allows you to pick different elevator music)

This one turns On or Off Motion Menu:

The daisy icon is to pick a replacement background picture:

I choose a bridge:

Not as good as the older versions but it is all we have to work with now -_-

I don't have NXT4, but do use Creator 2011. In Videowave one can insert a color panel at the beginning of a production and then add text to the blank color panel. This is what you have described as

wanting to do. Hopefully, the same can be accomplished in NXT4. It's a simple and straight forward process. If you want something more elaborate, an appropriate photo can be inserted in the first

panel on which text can be added. I have done both while creating productions utilizing either slides and/or videos.

This has nothing to do with the capability and limitations of NXT 4. Appreciate the attempt, but you are 5 Roxio's behind and there has been a major change -_-
