Pc Not Recognizing Roxio As A Recording Device. Help!

Tana

Question

I bought Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 yesterday and my PC will not recognize it as a recording device. It doesn't even show up on the list. I know the USB port on the front of my PC works because it picks up my headphones as a recording device when they are plugged in. IN fact, I had to disable them because when I first tried to use this software, it was recording what came through the microphone on the headphones.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled as well as patched and I can't get it to recognize that it's there.

We put it over on my husband's Surface Pro and it recognized it and recorded fine, but the issue I'm having there is that it's not recognizing my external DVD burner. No drives show up on the list to choose from.

I had to save it to the Surface, put it on the network, grab it off the network with my PC, stick it in movie maker to edit and then burn it to a disc.

The device requires more power than headphones. If you have a desktop, plug the device into a USB port on the back of your computer - it doesn't take much time to do so.

Also did you make the mistake of plugging in the device before you installed the program? Open Windows "Device Manager, look at Sound, etc devices and see what it says. A screenshot would be great.
