Dexter1994
Under the features on Roxio's website it says you can, "Produce Hollywood-style DVDs with navigation and professionally designed menus" with Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus and on the box it says you can "Include Hollywood-style menus on DVDs" but I am unable to figure out how to do this. All I can find is a check box to include a menu but nothing to customize it. Am I missing something or was this product misrepresented?
Jim_Hardin
Yes it does but limited... When you reach the Export tab and you select DVD for your Export, you get the Menu option. If selected you have 15 choices... While it may indicate "Chapters", NO Chapters are available in EVD There are "Titles" which most call Menu Buttons and they will be automatically added on the basis of One for each Clip in your Project. If you want the clips combined under one Title, use the Link option to put them together. The Record DVD app works the same way only you pre-select the menu before you start. Since there isn't any way to do multiple clips in this one, You get ONE Title only Another thought is if you choose NO Menus you will get a DVD that auto plays when inserted and loops back to the start when it reaches the end. Some people have a use for that. And so you know, Record DVD is not recommended anytime! It 'works' but one bump in the road and you lose everything up to that point and ruined a DVD learning that
Dexter1994
Jim, Thank you for your response. It appears that this product is misrepresented on the website. It states that you can “Produce Hollywood-style DVDs with navigation and professionally designed menus”. If the add menu feature is what they mean by “Produce Hollywood-style DVDs with navigation and professionally designed menus”, then they have grossly exaggerated that feature and I feel they have misrepresented the product. Is there a way to add or design menus or did I just waste $50 on this product? Thank you
bimicher
The product is not misrepresented. Nowhere does it say you can customize the "professionally designed menus". It does exactly what it says.
Jim_Hardin
I agree with Walt, it is not 'misrepresented' in the least. You did not pay attention to what it really says. You have to READ things very closely or you end up with $100's of dollars of underwhelming software and products. - I bought my first PC in 1980, so my misadventures cost is in the thousands by now. Sorry if that sounds brutal but that is life in the real world
GrifterWolf
Now I don't entirely agree with either side, but partially agree with both sides. The interpretation on the box is somewhat limited, while not stating customizable menus are included, it also does not say "Select from 15 pre-designed menus" which can be a disappointment to many customers. Roxio delivers great products more often than I can guess. The program looks and feels great and it's easy to control and record. The lack of Chapter and customizable Menu creation is the major drawback to the product. Roxio delivers what I NEED - VHS to DVD converter which I needed quite badly as most of my VHS collection is 20+ Years old. But it does not deliver what I *WANT* which is a customizable menu. Some of the VHS I own are old anime tapes and tapes I bought when I was still in High School and earlier, a customizable menu would be optimal to display cover art for the movie or personalize it to my own tastes. I do hope that the ability to import custom menus and custom looking buttons can come at some point in the future. All I need is a JPG import over the buttons really. Also I am going to try and find it when I'm ready to burn onto a DVD but where do you import the audio you create with the Roxio Audio program? Jim_Hardin
... but where do you import the audio you create with the Roxio Audio program? Look in the upper left corner of Sound Editor and try the Add Audio File button. Below that are 2 other choices
