Dvd Does Not Work On Dvd Player

I just downloaded toast burn version 2.0.1 and tried to burn a mov file on to a dvd. Once the dvd burned , I inserted on to my dvd player and it said "This disk cannot be played". what should I do? what settings does it need to be on?

Please post exactly what program you are using so that your post can be moved to the correct toast forum.

 

Simply burning a mov file to a DVD does not create a DVD that will play on a DVD player. A DVD has to be "authoured" by the program in order become a proper video DVD.

You seem to have purchased and used the wrong app for what you wanted to do. Toast Burn from the Mac App Store is a stripped-down version of it’s big brother Toast Titanium, at a fraction of the cost. According to the description, it only does data discs, not DVD-Video discs.

Likewise, the App Store versions ‘Toast DVD’ and ‘Toast Audio’ are also limited functionality apps, to just DVD video discs and audio CD discs respectively.
