toya247
I have windows 10 and my video wave in creator 12 kept getting "Videowave has stopped working" I had a chat with tech online and he said windows 10 does not support creator 12, I needed to update to nxt5. I did, installed this and still get same thing. Videowave has stopped working. Anyone can help. Did I upgrade for nothing?
Jim_Hardin
It is more likely that your PC is the basis for this than the software... Win 10 is only compatible with NXT 5. Some of us have found that Creator 2012 and NXT 3 do seem to run OK under Win 10. Other versions do not! After we get this resolved, you want to consider installing your Creator 2012 alongside with NXT 5 so that you have the best of both First thing to try is to make sure you have any Anti Virus or firewall turned OFF. Then run your NXT 5 install program and select Repair when it is offered. Skip any offer to update for now. Reboot an try it.
Rellimguod
Toya247 - I use Roxio Creator NXT and prior to upgrading to Windows 10, it worked just fine. Now, when I click on "Edit Video - Advanced", which fires up Roxio VideoWave, that programs opens just fine but when I click on "Add Photo/Video" I get the error message "VideoWave has stopped working" and then the only thing to do is hit the "close program" button. If this is your problem, I have found a workaround. Instead of clicking on the "Add Photo/Video" button, go find the file on your computer you want to add and simply copy it (i.e. to the clipboard with your mouse). Then, go bottom of the Roxio VideoWave page ("Production Editor: Storyline" section) and right click on one of the open boxes and paste your file. I've been able to trim down my files and produce my final production this way without any problems. I hope this solves your problem, as this was irritating for me. Jim_Hardin
Keep in mind that NXT 5 is the only one that is Win 10 approved. Some have run NXT 3 and even Creator 2012 in Win 10 but those are use at your own risk I have found that copy and paste does overcome a crash in some cases... Always left with the question of why

When you install NXT NXT5, if Creator 2012 is installed it will remove it. AS far as I know Jim, 2012 and any of the NXT versions cannot run together on the same computer. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Jim_Hardin
You are right about that Walt! So the sequence is to install NXT 5 first then install Creator 2012 after that. Apparently the old installer of 2012 doesn't see the newer software as a menace to its' health
