Videowave Constantly Crashes

Swiftie4Life

Question

I know. I ask a lot of questions. Im sorry. I suck at this troubleshooting stuff.

But videowave constantly crashes and I dont know why. When I make an edit and it crashes, my CPU is at 2% usage or lower and my ram usage is at 30%. So it's not because of my ram or cpu. Im constantly looking at it. Videowave takes very little resources. I have all my drivers up to date and I have Direct X 11. What's causing the crashing?

Also, if you guys know of any free video editors that are like videowave, just minus the crashing, let me know please, if there aint a solution really.

Well, here's my computer specs

OS: Windows 7

Processor: AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics Quad-core 2.0GHz

Ram: 8GB

The video file is a M2TS, exactly what the recorder records as. And this particular file is a 43 minute video and the size is 3.17GB but it crashes even when editing a 15 minute video. Im just making simple split and delete edits. Nothing special.

Did you ever try a different file to see if it is the file or the software???

Either way, I would suggest a short repair process.

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Don’t do any updates at this time (get it running first)

When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that!

When the Repair completes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

CPU speed is at the bottom of the minimums for editing (below min for recording HD)...

Still that should only result in testing your patience, not crashing!

You should try a more extensive Repair.

Download and install the Revo uninstaller.

Run it in Moderate mode to remove the GameCap.

Reboot and turn off AV & any Reg cleaner.

Install Roxio without any updates and try it out.

Hope that will do it!
