Markcw73 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 I have a few older songs in my library I'd like to increase the volume on as they are much lower than others. Anyone know which filter I should use to accomplish this? Or any other suggestions that might work?
0 theoldarchiver 54 Report post Posted May 3, 2017 What you want is called ‘normalization’, and I don’t think Toast can do that, nor is it an Audio Units filter effect. Is this about videos files or audio files? Audio editing programs usually have functions for that.
0 Markcw73 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 this is about Audio Files. Years ago one of the functions of toast was upping the the level of your audio files.
0 theoldarchiver 54 Report post Posted May 4, 2017 I suppose you could use the ‘Gains’ setting, one of the columns in the audio tracks listing, which defaults to 0.0 (as in: zero dB change). These numbers for each track can be clicked to change them (one track at a time). The pop-up graphic slider has a range from +12 to -96 dB. The effect can be tested with preview listening using the controller () at the bottom of the main window. If that is enough control for you, then perhaps you can do it all within Toast. [The manual (user guide) only mentions that levels can be changed, but doesn't describe how.]
0 Markcw73 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2017 I have tried the EQ method. Hard to tell if it in fact works. Thank you for your input!
