Please post the dxdiag.exe text file from your w7 COMPUTER VIA "Windows 7 or Windows Vista. Click Start. , type dxdiag in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. "

also

Look at the events viewer logs on your computer Do you have any "bad" events listed? Same as above but type in events viewer.

If you are using a registry Cleaner - either stand alone or a part of a program (like System Mechanic) or the Registry Cleaner part of CCleaner) - get rid of it !

Here is an example of what the events viewer log looks like. You should have some related to Roxio What do they say?

Don't need the full log - just the General comments and the Details on at least one of the errors.

By the way, have you simply tried to do a repair on the program. Make sure that your antivirus is off

Please comment on "Registry Cleaner" use.

Ah, the old ....005 exception code!

Read this: from Wikipedia:

Causes of "0xC0000005"

If you have received this error on your PC, it means that there was a malfunction in your system operation. Common reasons include incorrect or failed installation or uninstallation of software that may have left invalid entries in your Windows registry, consequences of a virus or malware attack, improper system shutdown due to a power failure or another factor, someone with little technical knowledge accidentally deleting a necessary system file or registry entry, as well as a number of other causes. The immediate cause of the "0xC0000005" error is a failure to correctly run one of its normal operations by a system or application component.

Hopefully a repair of the program will fix it. If you have a isw just insert it into the coputer and select repair whn offered. If you have the dowload, look for the installation file and you should get the rpir option.,

Thank you I will have another go at a repair. I had a really hard time installing in the first place but has worked perfect since. Probably all down to a lack of knowledge.
