Toast 16 - Toast 15 With 1 New Feature And Bugs

Just got stupid and paid for the upgrade to Toast 16 Pro. Looks like there's a few new utilities and 1 new feature(the multi-cam feature) and it also looks like Corel Quality Control hasn't gotten any better. Running Mac OS X 10.12 Sierra. In the burning screen when you click on Menu, the drop down selections are transparent so their text is basically lost because of the background showing thru. The same thing on other dropdown menus. See the attached screenshots.

 

 

From what it seems to me, I paid for a new version that just has a different color scheme, 1 feature most people won't use, and User Interface bugs. I haven't really played with it to evaluate the burning performance but the one blu ray disk I did burn, never got better than 2x on a 6x Blu Ray on a 16x Blu Ray external drive.

 

Also, after I installed the "100 extra" themes for mydvd, there's no way to find them or use them.

 

I have chatted with Corel about this and they have sent the issues to the tech department. I'm not optimistic about getting any fixes due to their history of Ignoring Toast 15.

 

I hope they prove me wrong. If you have Toast 15... I would wait before throwing away your money on Toast16. Don't be stupid like me.

Update: If you burn a Blu Ray to an image file first, then copy that image file to a 6x Blu Ray disc, you can get an average write speed of 6-7x as I did on this test. On Toast 15, I routinely got 6-7x when burning blu ray images with PlexDisc (Amazon) 25gb 6x inkjet printable discs.

 

If you try and burn right from the added video files to the disc without using the image file intermediate file, it will only burn about 2x and take forever.

There is also an issue with generating WinZip serials included in Toast Pro 16. You'll be left with the WinZip trial version for now. Support promised me to fix it next week and send out serials.

Last week i purchased Toast 16 Pro and i didn't recive any serial number for WinZip...

 

And a last question, where is it the app ( WinZip )? i look for the app at the Pro apps folder but i didn't find it.

Concerning where to find WinZip: I could launch it from Launchpad as it appeared there after installation of Toast Pro 16.

Found the culprit.

If you have checked the box "reduce transparency in the accesibility>Display setting, toast will actually _make_ those menus transparent, totally the opposite than we want :D

And this is Toast 18, but that waas introduced wayyyy back. An easy fix for the programmers.
