Brendon
[1] what was the previous version of Videowave which worked properly for you? [2] Is it possible for you to upload one of your phone videos to some file repository such as Google Drive, and give us a download link so we can download and try various things with the file, please? Jim_Hardin
All recent versions of VideoWave allow you to select a clip and rotate it. All iPhone videos are 16:9, so if you hold the phone vertically, your clips are 9:16! Think about the phone videos you see on the news. Remember that they always show a blurred border on each side. That is because they are shot in 9:16 and nothing can change that. Record with the phone horizontally and it goes away.
Brendon
Record with the phone horizontally and it goes away. Equequestrian seems to be saying that while (s)he used to be able to do that with an earlier version, (s)he can't do it with this version.
Jim_Hardin
Project ratio and/or ratio handling settings affect this as well but all iPhone videos are 16:9.
sknis
I just added several horizontal mov files from an IPhone and they came in full screen horizontally at 16 by 9. Videowave doesn't have an option for 9 by 16 to start a project. BTW, I cannot find any output that is 9 by 16 (or so). Maybe I'm missing something or perhaps the original poster changed and saved a setting?
Jim_Hardin
File - New Project - widescreen? They don’t use the “16:9” word - my bad! And unless they have turned it off, a screen pops up when VideoWave is started and if you pick new project widescreen or 4:3 are your options. Then... if you check in preferences, there is one for default handling (crop or stretch) of clips that do not conform to the aspect ratio of the project.
