can not capture sound

hello I am having trouble capturing audio from my sound card.  Windows 10 sound blaster audigy Fx .  When I activate sound card capture I get error message could not open sound device.  I do not have a what u hear option.  Roxio creator NXT pro 7  any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not the best computer guru .  By find out if my sound card is selected you mean are the drivers installed the answer would be yes.  I did read the other post you are referring too both sound blaster cards but at the same time different..  I think the player pictured in the other post is a creative player.  I did notice one thing however if I try to move the recording level up that panel will close same thing if I click auto.  Appreciate you taking the time to help

I see the problem but have no idea how to fix it I have nothing listed for recording.

Thanks everyone for your help I would have been lost without it.  I went to a sound card because when I upgraded to windows 10 my onboard sound went basically mono.  Love the surround sound.  I was hoping to capture sound with roxio creator but now that's a bust.  I will experiment with Audacity sounds viable.  Again thanks all and have Happy Holidays!
