Free editing software

Question

I've captured all video from my VHS and 8mm tapes using Easy VHS to DVD so now I have the task of editing all those mpeg files.  Looking for suggestions on good, free editing video software.  Not a Mac guy but Windows and Linux would work.  Did some googling and have a list but was just wanting some other opinions as well.  Thanks.

If your Roxio Vhs to DVD isn't enough,  try Windows Movie Maker.  Search the web for it for your Windows Version.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not finding much editing capabilities with VHS to DVD, just basic trimming, etc.  Anyhow, I'll take a look at Win MM.  Thanks.

HD Movie Maker Pro is a great program the free version won't do as much as the Pro version but it's

on sale now from MS at only $8.99. and it does lots.
