NXT4 will not load after upgrading to Win 10

ronbaln

Question

I have used Nxt4 on Win 7 PRO for years . However since upgrading Comp. to Win 10 the programme will not run. Roxio support say it is because programme so old it is not compatible with Win 10.

They also cannot supply a download link whereby I could reinstall programme. This was an upgrade from Roxio 12 and 12 was upgrade from 11

I have discovered my original Easy Creator 2011 and out of curiosity installed it. It took awhile but it works in Windows 10 .So I can copy ,burn etc.now.

So why does NXT 4 not work all the files are still on computer.

Has anyone any solutions?

If you can get hold of the NXT4 installation files I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall in compatibility mode. Without the installation files, there is the option of a repair install in control panel. I am running NXT4 on Windows 10 and most of the features work although there are some bugs. Can you remember if you downloaded NXT4 or ordered a DVD? If you downloaded it, do a search on your hard drive for "NXT4" or "Roxio" and it might show up.

By the way do you mean just Roxio Central  will not launch? NXT4 has many programmes. Try launching Roxio Central and the other individual programmes using the .exe files and see if they will launch. Try launching from the exe file.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio Creator NXT 4\Roxio Central\RoxioCentralFx.exe

If you right click the RoxioCentralFx.exe file you have the option to troubleshoot compatibility and run in compatibility mode.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio Creator NXT 4\Video Convert\VideoConvert.exe ... or whatever other path.

Kind regards

Chris
