Internal burner for Mac OS 10.7.5 Lion/Toast 15?

Question

Hi!

First post in here so greetings to all!

I’m wonder if anyone can help me out with some recommendations. I need to replace the internal optical drive on my Mac Pro, model 1,1 - 2.66 GHz with Mac OS 10.7.5 Lion. Toast Titanium 15.1 is final version for Lion.

I have searched the Roxio support pages looking for a list of supported drives for version 15, and I have also chatted with them, with no luck. Does anyone know if for instance any of the latest Pioneer burners will work with version 15?

Here are some burners that I have been looking at:
Pioneer - BDR-211 and BDR-212 series
LG WH16NS40

Thanks!
Mike

That would be a 2006 model, which is important for parts replacement.

I would suggest looking at Other World Computing (Macsales.com), as they list upgrade options per Mac model.

Pioneer BDR-211 lists only Windows compatibility, that I could find. That might be important for driver software, drive utilities, and firmware updates.
LG WH16NS40 lists Mac OS X 10.6 or later compatibility, so that includes Lion 10.7. Seems like a good choice.
