Hi community,

Are you getting Blu-Ray-Authoring activated in Toast Pro 19 ? Toast crashes every time I try.

RAM 16 GB
Boot-ROM-Version:    162.0.0.0.0
SMC-Version (System):    2.19f12

Hi,

me too !

I have the same problem not to get get the Blu-Ray Authering working.

I have made a copy of the crash report, send it to the support. I got very soon an answer.

But ...

It was the "normal" answer to delete some *.plist files but does not solve the problem.

I had told support that their solution does not work. So, i have been waiting for 2 days.

Today i wrote another ( angry ) e-mail, but til now no sign of live !

I will come back, if something changes.

See You ..

Klaus

Hi folks,

here is the content of the last E-mail i received after 3 days from support :

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Dear Mr. ,

Please download and run the free version of the application below to completely remove all Toast entries.

http://macpaw.com/cleanmymac

Deactivate all processes running in the background. Follow these instructions to ensure that the additional processes are disabled:

Go to System Settings/User and Groups. Click on your user name and then on the "Login Items" tab.
Select an item from the list there and click on the minus sign to disable it.
Restart the system.

Now reinstall Toast.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I have done exactly, what they told, here is the result :

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Hello,

thank you for your finally feedback and for the new solution.

I have performed the described procedure EXACT !

Unfortunately this was not successful either, the same problem ( crash Toast 19 Pro when activating "Bluetooth Authoring" ) remains, no change.

However, MacPaw sent 2 error messages during the uninstallation process.
I have attached them as a Word file.

I don't think that this is an individual error on my system since, as I mentioned in my last email, 2 other users in the Roxio forum had the same error.
I'm sure there will be more messages about this.

I assume that it is a software bug in Toast 19 Pro that is causing the problem.

Please take care that the bug is fixed !

I will share my experiences in the Roxio forum with the community so that other users know about the problem solution.

I expect that you will find a solution to the software problem as soon as possible, so that I can use Toast 19 Pro to FULL EXTENT.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Here are the mentioned two error messages :

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Toast 10 Pro

This property was only partially cleaned up.

Error:
/Users/xxxxxxxxxxx/Library/Cookies/com.roxio.Toast.binarycookies: "com.roxio.Toast.binarycookies" could not be removed because you do not have the required access rights.

DiskCatalogMaker RE

This property was only partially cleaned up.

Error:
/Users/xxxxxxxxxxr/Library/Cookies/com.mac.fujisoft.DiskCatalogMaker.binarycookies: "com.mac.fujisoft.DiskCatalogMaker.binarycookies" could not be removed because you do not have the required access rights.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

So i think, as i mentioned above, the error belongs not to an individual fault on the system. I think the Software is faulty !

Lets see, how the thing is going forward ...

Cheers,

Klaus

Tried the fix described above by Klaus.  Did not work.  Removed Toast 18 and Toast 19 apps.  Ran CleanMyMac 3 (already purchased version) and did not get any errors about not being able to clean up deleted app files (said they were all removed).  But when I reinstall (after rebooting), Toast 19 Blu-ray activation still continues to crash instantly and not install.  Very bothersome as that is the only reason I keep purchasing Toast in any form is for the Blu-ray authoring.  Starting to lose faith in the product and company.  Sorry.

Yes, I'm still having the same problem.

Just tried installing Toast 19 to my MacBook Pro.  Same issue.  Has never had any version of Toast installed on it.  Whenever you go to activate the Blu-ray driver, the app crashes hard.  Tried repeatedly and it will not install.  Hoping that Roxio/Corel will issue a fix soon so that Toast 19 is actually usable with Blu-ray players.

I've got similar problems under OS X Mojave.

What I did so far to get it sorted:

#1 Created a new user named "Toast"

#2 Booted into user "Toast"

#3 Installed "EasyFind" by DEVONtechnologies (it's free)

#4 Searched for all files and folder in the user-folder of user "Toast"  containing Toast and or Roxio + deleted them all

#5 Re-installed Toast 19 Pro - BD mastering now works as long as I do not try to include a standard BD menu - if adding a a BD menu I have to disable all 4 menu options (Include scene menus etc)

Hi folks,

same for me too.

Nevertheless the conversation per E-Mail with support is for the moment very good ( after some "sharp" E-Mails from my side ).

But there is sadly no progress in solving the problem. It seems to me that the support insists that the fault is on my side, means a faulty setup or system.

That means, per example, they want to set up a new administrator account, and something like that.

Regardless that, i have told them, that i have deleted my hole system, setup new macOS and then, as first app, installing Roxio Toast 19 Pro.

What should i say : Same error as on my old system. What can i do more from my side ? I hope they believe sometime that the fault is on the side of the app.

Let us see how it goes along ...

Cheers,

Klaus

Hi folks,

Support told this to me, i think as there last answer :

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

We would like to inform you that the described error was forwarded. Our developers will work on a solution, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that this will be possible or give a time frame for it.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<

I think the support has now realized that the error is not caused by my computer but by the app itself.

I am curious when an update will be released, or if it will be released at all.

Until then ...

Klaus

Hello everybody,

I have the same problem. Have already tried various things - no success. I am also convinced that the 99% error is in the program.

My test was on iMac and Macbook Pro i9 2018, among others. Both failed.

I also tried a CleanInstall on the Macbook. So just installed MacOS from the Appstore via USB and then Toast 19. The error also happens here.

At first everything was denied and the mistake was denied. After that statement, I found this post.

THAT IS RUDE! Before buying, I asked in the chat and explicitly pointed out that I need BD authoring. Everything was confirmed in the chat and no errors were pointed out. Now, according to this forum, the error has been known for a long time.

I'll wait another 20 days and then claim the money back!

I figured out what the problem is and hope Roxio looks at this post.

I will send in the solution to support and hopefully they will take a look to send out an update.  After much trouble shooting (they should pay me) and staying up until 2am (I need this to work) the issue is with the actual wi-fi activation.  I was able to enable blu-ray authorization by tottering the wi-fi off and on while you activate the blu-ray activation selection.

1.  First have your wi-fi on.

2.  Then open up Toast 19 Pro

3. Select the Blu-ray Activation in the Help Menu

4. Turn off your wi-fi.

5.  Then try to activate

6.  Message says that you do not have your wi-fi on, do you want to try again.

7. turn on your wi-fi

8.  Then try activating it again and hit "ok" - BUT immediately turn of and on your wi-fi while it is trying to activate. - You may have to do something like this a few times to get it to activate.

Then it will activate eventually.  You may have to do this a few times.  I did this method on two Macs (Mac Pro 2013 and 15" MacBook Pro 2018) and it worked.

Corel/Roxio:  Please find a solution, talk to Apple if you have too.  And give us an update with a patch!!!

Hello everybody,
I just tried to imitate the solution. Suddenly it worked like that for me - for whatever reason.

I'm at work and have my Macbook with me. Since I cannot use the WLAN from my work, I used my MobileHotSpot (in this case the SAmsung S10 work phone). With the WiFi from the mobile hotspot, activation was done within 1 second.

I'm going to test it again today at home with the Mobile Hot Spot from my private iPhone.

I'm glad some people are getting their BD driver to activate using the above solution but I am not using Wi-Fi on either of my computers.  I have my MacBook Pro and my iMac both using wired networking.  I am working with Corel support sending them crash reports, etc. but I've yet to hear back from them (although it has only been a day so it is not like they are not responding).  Actually, they have been responsive once I submitted an actual ticket. I will keep everyone informed as to my progress.  I want to thank the community for all the responses and help so far!

I have done the procedure a few times to get the blu-ray to activate.  It is something in Corel/Roxio's programing probably because it is consistent and hope they take note of this discussion.  Here is what works every time so far...

1.  When you click to activate the blu-ray under the Home menu under the Help option in the Finder, immediately turn off your wi-fi or network connection before Toast 19 Pro crashes.

2.  This will immediately pop up a notice that you are not connected to the internet and the program needs to be connected in order to activate.  It will ask then,"Do you want to try again?".

3.  Then turn on again your wi-fi or network connection and when it is active again, THEN select "Yes" on the message to try activating again.

4.  THEN the Blu-ray activates and says. "ok".

So...it seems that Corel/Roxio needs to fix this and it might be in the command line to activate if they are programing (I did a little programing before and it looks like the symptoms).

Maybe an easy fix to just direct the command to the correct code for activation.

But...now days...probably Corel/Roxio outsourced their coding, so try to get whomever to fix it might be their challenge without having to pay more...just my thoughts and do not know.

It should be an easy fix now that the issue has been seen to be constant, so it should be easy now to trouble shoot where the error is on the code and correct it...

That wouldn't be possible with me. As soon as I clicked the activation in the menu above, the program immediately closed.

OK. The program may not work with the Mac's internet adapter / driver. Have you ever tried using the mobile internet of your cell phone for activation? So share internet connection via WLAN (MobileHotspot). Then connect via WLAN and activate it?

It's so ridiculous that you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I'm currently sitting at the iMac and trying to activate the auhtoring. I tried the hotspot on my iPhone and the hotshop on my work phone (S10). Nothing worked.

Now I have logged into the home WLAN with the S10 and activated tethering.
So you can say that the S10 only forwards the home WLAN (Internet) to the iMac via the hotspot via WLAN.
AND SUDDENLY IT WORKS

Router (WiFi) - iMac - does not work
iPhone Hotspot 4G to WiFi Hotspot - iMac - does not work
Samsung S10 Hotspot 4G to WiFi Hotspot - does not work

Router (WIFI) to Samsung S10 - Hotspot (Wifi) to iMac - works.
The S10 takes the home WLAN and passes it on to the IMac as its own WLAN.

🤬

Glad to hear others are getting it to work.

It looks like it is something to do with wi-fi or WLAN protocol and/or transport, so maybe this information will help support to nail down the issue and get us a patch, especially for those who cannot get these work-a-rounds to work and activate blu-ray authorization.

Yes, your fix works!  I don't understand why but it works exactly at you outline in your steps above.  Thank you so much for figuring this out and sharing with us!

Hello Lobi-One

It is hard to believe, but your workaround did the job !

But why do i need a WIFI connection at all, because my iMac Pro is connected to the internet by LAN cable ?

Glad to hear it is working!  It might not be a wi-fi issue then, but some internet connectivity issue within the program and/or get stuck in transition.  Maybe the activation token that is sent to Corel/Roxio servers gets stuck on launch or something.

Hopefully Corel/Roxio is watching the forum and taken note.  Need a patch soon, but hopefully they are not waiting on Big Sur to come out before releasing a patch.

Just reveals it is something in their activation process (my guess).  Hopefully Corel/Roxio will look at it and make the corrections.
