Matt Caz 6 Report post Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) I installed big sur on another drive and bought the upgrade to Toast 19. Not only did they kill the interface, it wants to re-encode everything and crashes. Guess I'll stay with Catalina and 18 for now. jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted December 10, 2020 it seems as though roxio will not fix it's software.
klausvonlimburgerhof 2 Report post Posted December 12, 2020 I see that you are using version 19.1 of Toast 19. But in the meantime there is already 19.2. At the following link : https://www.roxio.com/de/pages/download/ you can download the latest version.

fem 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2020 I suggest to make a check and some maintenance of the whole mac, and a cleanup with, for instance, Onyx (which is free). More check the hard disk by starting from the recovery. My copy of 19.2 works fine from the first installation on MacOS 11. greetings
jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) i ran the onyx software and then did a clean uninstall and reinstall of 19.2 i was able to run 19.2 audio one time. great. turns out that the painter app does not work under big sur so i'm asking for a refund for my 'pro' app. Edited December 30, 2020 by jamesfrmphilly
DerFrank 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2020 Hi all, I have exactly the same issue! I've chatted with the support team and deleted all Roxio related libraries, as they told me, but the error is still the same. The supporter told me that they will catch up later, when the issue is fixed.
jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted January 3 (edited) i did a very complicated clean uninstall and then a reboot before i reinstalled 19.2 Edited January 3 by jamesfrmphilly
jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted January 4 after doing a clean uninstall and following all their instructions 19.2 ran ok for a few days and crashed again. apparently roxio does not actually have tech support anymore. i think we're screwed.
Dear.Steve 2 Report post Posted January 11 I had the problem with 19.2 crashing under MacOS 10.14.6. This would happen instantly whenever you tried to do anything with the CD drive. I performed the uninstall instructions given above by jamesfrmphilly and it seems to be working OK, so far. I've erased and written to a CD-RW. Haven't tried a DVD yet. jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted January 11 (edited) i think they should have the uninstall code in front of every install. we should not have to do it. i believe they don't have any technicians left. maybe it's the virus or maybe they fired them all. in any case we are screwed. daverou 0 Report post Posted January 13 Still no answer on my ticket opened since 1/10. The problem seems to be that the app memory has no limit and balloons up to the an enormous size when trying to run a disc. You can see it happening in Activity Monitor. I did have luck with a normal DVD. It did stop working until the disc was done burning then I got the warning. Instead of force quitting Toast, I relaunched finder and it mounted to the disc. Not the most confidence inspiring experience. Then it hung up on a Blu-Ray. Uggh. They need to fix it.
jamesfrmphilly 6 Report post Posted January 19 (edited) from nov 21 till jan 16 to get somebody to look at the problem.......i suspect roxio is no longer an actual company Edited January 25 by jamesfrmphilly
POPSD 0 Report post Posted January 26 I am having the same problem. Toast 19 seems to be "buggy" and unstable on Macs like mine, running Mac OS 11.1 Big Sur. Does ANYBODY have any answers?
Scottinni 1 Report post Posted January 26 I have Macbook pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Mac OS 10.15.7 Catalina. I had to upgrade to Catalina so the new iPhone 12 would connect. My toast 14 wouldn't work so I bought Toast 19 Pro. After the install would crash upon launch, I would see launch then it would crash. I called tech support really no help, I did chat and no one was in that could help me, but they gave me a ticket number. Then i checked this forum out. jamesfrmphilly had a list o things to clear out or uninstall I followed the instructions and trashed the items listed plus anything that was labeled Roxio or Toast or Jam. I then ran a maintenance program on OnyX. and reinstalled Toast 19 Pro and it didn't crash. Thanks forum and jamesfrmphilly he posted the info on Jan 3
POPSD 0 Report post Posted January 27 Scottinni — Thanks for your reply. Yes, the suggestions by jamesfrmphilly does work.I did what he suggested and Toast 19 is behaving now on my Mac with OS 11.1 Big Sur installed.
tedmills 0 Report post Posted January 31 Have we confirmed that the fix from jamesfrmphilly also fixes the crossfades/audio problem. I really only use Toast for *one thing* and that's making audio CDs, with crossfades and burning disc images.
