I am using the Sound Editor within Easy VHS to DVD3 Plus to record music from LP's and convert them to MP3 files. I would like a description of how the Normalize option works in Sound Editor. Specifically, a slider is displayed that offers the user a choice from 1X to 10X, but I do not understand what this relates to. Other sound editors that I am familiar with typically offer a choice relative to 0dBFS, usually as a percent (e.g. 80%) or as a dB (e.g. -3 dB). How does the 1X to 10X range relate to 0dBFS?
I also note a Maximize Volume choice. How would this typically be used, and how does it compare to the Normalize function?
