what do I need to do so all my HI-8 tapes copy to DVD that can play on a blueray player

I have a HI-8 camcorder that I was trying to transfer to  a dvd that will play on a blue ray player. I was able to  transfer the videos to a dvd on my computer.  But that same DVD would not play on blueray DVD player. any suggestions.    Any suggestions I use the program VHS to DVD 3 plus. it even shows a HI-8 video recorder on the front of the box.
