Unclosed roxio 5 disc

Island dad

Question

Help please:

Just purchased Roxio 9.

Created several data disks with roxio 5 on a computer running Windows 2000.

That computer is gone. Now I want to view and use the data on the unclosed disks.

My computer says there is no data on the disk when using roxio 9.

What am I doing wrong?

Were those discs made using DirectCD (I think that's what it was called in V5,I can't really remember). If so you might try using Drag to Disc to look at them.If not were the discs left open?If so you might try using Creator Classic and try importing a session to see if you can look at it.

Actually there is some problems with this in V9. Some things I found…

Right Click the D2D icon in the Systray and choose Exit Drag to Disc. Then load or reload the disc into the drive. XP has a built in reader (never install the old reader version) and should read the drive.

Insert the DCD disc into a drive that is not selected as the drive D2D is using. You may have to do this a couple of times!

You will not be able to write to pre-V9 D2D discs but if formatted in V9, they will be interchangeable with earlier versions.

Please do, This kind of caught us off guard!

Very few people actually use packet writers including the those that did beta testing. This little quirk has gone unnoticed until recently…
