stormwatch1016
I upgraded to Toast 20 Pro tonight... it crashes repeatedly and immediately on startup. I'm running it on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 Mac OS Catalina version 10.15.7 I've been using Toast since it first came out, but never had any trouble before! I've deleted all previous versions, completely deleted and re-installed Toast 20... I don't know what else to try. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know a workaround? Thanks so much in advance for any advice.
patvideoguy
Unfortunately you have joined an elite group of unhappy customers. While my version of 20 Pro does not crash immediately, it does crash every single time I try to burn, or save an image. It also has myriad other awful issues and glitches. I have been contacting "support" daily for the past two months. I can only hope you have better luck.
SolarBill
I had the same Toast app launch crash problem with Version 19 last December and feel like an idiot that I trusted that surely v20 would have fixed the problem. But nope. Toast v20 crashes immediately during launch just like version 19 did. Last year tech support gave me an absurdly long and arcane script to follow of deletions of the previous version hidden support files which was beyond my skill level to follow. If a conflict with an earlier version is the cause of all these launch crashes, Roxio should fix the problem within their installer or by providing an maintenance app that finds and deletes the conflicting files.
AcidRain
@SolarBillwould you mind sharing the absurdly long and arcane script? I'm wondering if that would help solve OP's issue as well as my issue: I'm pretty sure the root cause of my issue is a conflict with some file installed by Toast/Roxio Restore and a good clean up script would solve the problem. Thanks.
