Easy Media Creator 9 Video Wave problem

DBooth

Question

I am just beginning on Creator 9. I am in the CineMagic Production area. I have selected photos and audio. Now as I select transitions I keep getting kicked out of the program. I select add transition, then select to add it after the current photo. It will accept a few of these then it will kick me out and say "VideoWave 9 has encountered a problem and needs to close" then I lose anything not saved. Is this a bug? I just installed the software today. Thanks

You didn't give us much to go on. :) There is a possibility that the issue is caused by your video card/chip not having the latest drivers and or the latest version of Microsoft's DirectX 9c not being installed. Handling of 3D transitions is handed off to the video card (yes, this is different than previous versions except V8). Update the drivers for that card/chip and install the latest DirectX 9c. If it a very old card/chip; it may not handle DirectX 9c and you will have limited functionality in both transitions and rendering.

You might consider adding your computer profile including the video card/chip information to your signature so you won't have to post it again. Go to My Control and look down to the left to get to edit signature.

This is very similar to the problems I have been having and others that I have read. Playing around too much with transitions causes a crash. I have a fairly new nvidia card (6600 gt) with latest drivers and latest direct x. I'm hoping it's something the programmers have seen and are working on a fix. ;-)
