Burning to DVD

Uncle Chuck

Question

My computer is a Gateway Pentium 4, 1.7ghz, 256ram and 80gig hard drive.

When I try to burn my WMV to a DVD I get an error message that reads "Aborted, error #80045208. I can't figure out how to fix this problem. Does anyone have a suggestion? The knowledge base troubleshooter said I should update the burners Firmware even though it is only a year old. I am using a Memorex DVD Dual Format 8x burner. Thanks for any help.

One year is a "very long time" when it comes to computer hardware and driver/firmware updates. You should definitely check if there is anything newer is available. I would also suggest you try burning to an iso file first and then burn the iso file to the DVD. Many of us have found that gives a more reliable and error free DVD. Your computer is near the lower end of the EMC 8 requirements for burning video so using the iso method might also give better results.
