Nog een Hans
I cannot update my Dutch version of Easy CD & DVD Creator Basic. English updates won't install due to language differences and Dutch updates seem unfindable on the internet. The hyperlinks found on another forum point to internet pages that do no longer exist but give a 10% discount code for upgrading. On the German site the update button even directly goes to the buying version 9 page. It seems that Roxio has deliberately removed the Dutch updates to make me upgrade to v9, which I do not intend to do. Does anybody know how to get the Dutch updates for my legal Roxio software? (to reach as many of you as possible this topic is in English; Dutch users forgive me). Thanks to anyone taking the effort of reading this and anyone offering a solution. Hans Hans Do you have a specific reason to update or are you updating just for the sake of updating.
james_hardin
You also need to tell us what version you have now. Since the last update for V6 was in 2004.

From down in the South Pacific I have no trouble getting German updates to 6.1.1.48 for version 6 Basic, they're all downloadable from HERE. I don't know why you're having trouble with them unless you're accessing a different server, because I had no problem downloading the German updaters through that link. But when I come in through www.roxio.nl, all the updater and software download links there point to http://www.roxio.com/en/support/uk/software_updates.jhtml and from there I get redirected to http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/default.html which is your stock-standard English updates. It seems to me there is something wrong with the links at www.roxio.nl, unless there are NO Dutch updates. If there are no Dutch updates, then a page on that site should tell you instead of just sending you to the UK. If there ARE Dutch updates, I haven't been able to find a link to them for you, sorry. The page at www.roxio.nl/company/contactroxio.html says "You may also email us at webmaster@roxio.com". May I suggest you do email the web team there and point out there are no links to Dutch updates for any Roxio software on www.roxio.nl Goed geluk. Nog een Hans
Hans Do you have a specific reason to update or are you updating just for the sake of updating. Good question, yes I have a good reason, normally I do not update if an application works fine, however I make an exception on that rule for Windows update. But my AVG Free Edition 7.1 installation needs to be upgraded to 7.5 because 7.1 is discontinued in January 2007. I tried this already but then I got the message that the outdated Roxio software could cause a conflict with AVG 7.5. That's why I am trying to find the update for Roxio. You also need to tell us what version you have now. Since the last update for V6 was in 2004. OK here I go: Creator Classic v 6.1.1.48 Disc Copier v 6.1.1.48 Drag to disc v 6.1.1.48 DVD Builder v 1.1.1.48 Label Creator v 6.1.1.48 Roxio Retrieve v 6.1.1.48 Hello Hans,Yes, there seems to be something wrong with the site. Brendon, Thanks for your reply and investigation, if version 6.1.1.48 would be the latest this would mean I have the latest version already. This is strange as the installer gave the message that I could not install it. I do not hope the version number is updated while (some parts of) the software isn't. Anyway I will follow your advice and send an email to Roxio to know if any Dutch updates are still available. This is what I found on the Dutch Roxio site These web updates are apply to Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.x.x Platinum (English Only) to version 6.2.0.110. All other languages will update to version 6.2.0.130. By the way, Brendon THIS is the URL to the German updates which do NOT link to the downloadable updates. To make things clear, I do not need the German updates but the Dutch ones but tried this only yesterday to change the "german" part in the URL to a "Dutch" equivalent in a hope to find Dutch updates. To inform you I filled in a support form and hope to get an answer from Roxio. If I have any news on that I will post it here.
james_hardin
The version you have is 6.1.1.48, which indicate you have the 'free' Basic version. That is as far as the Basic version ever went so you have all there is.

Did not know this is a free version. I will see what I will do then, either uninstall Roxio or uninstall AVG I am afraid.

There is a file that is good for Versions 4 & 5 in this situation (AVG vs Roxio); dunno if it'll work with V.6. However, I don't have the link offhand. Hopefully, either I can find it, or someone else will come up with it. To be honest I have not used Roxio yet, if the 7-patch is OK for version 6.
