peamom
I have used Easy CD/DVD creator 6 in the past to make slide shows with music. I recently made a slide show of jpeg stills, with a few .mov movie files embedded in the show. Added Disney music that I used on a different slide show I successfully burned (another trip). Only difference is I used the audio portion of Easy CD/DVD creator 6 to combine tracks so I could get 3 songs looping as opposed to the one, and other slideshow had no movies. Everything goes great: movie encodes, then starts writing, gets 10% into it on a TDK 2X speed DVD, and 8% into it on an HP 8X DVD, then gives me "E80041930: TrackWriter error - Wait failed (T7123)." DVD brurner is OK because I am able to use Roxio drag to disk to burn all the date files to the DVD. HELP!!! I put a lot of work into this movie and would love to get it onto a DVD. Also, I updated the software on Roxio. Actually, when I tried, it said I was up to date. peamom

ogdens
I found this also and it was no help to me. I don't think I have a hardware problem, as I can burn with Drag to Disk no problem. Trackwrite error is normally caused by the media used or the burner. Because it burns CDs has no bearing on what happens when a DVD is used. What happens if you try to make a data cd using XP's built in burning capability (use a CD-RW for the test and then you can erase later). If that test fails maybe you could try a lens clseaning CD. If you have tried ALL the suggestions in the post I gave you earlier , then maybe another fellow user has some more ideas.

peamom
peamom, Please explain this statement in detail! cdanteek I can take the entire contents of the folder from which I made the slide show; ie. all my jpeg files and .mov files, as well as the music file created by combining multiple tracks in Roxio Easy CD/DVD Audio Central, and drag them to a DVD and then burn them to the DVD using Roxio's Drag to Disk. james_hardin
Would like to know your actual version number? Go into Classic – Help About. Assume you are burning from DVD Builder. If you select Burn to File, does it render to an ISO file OK? Also would like to know what the Make & Model of your burner is and details on the media you are using. Might as well throw in the specs of your PC & OS while you are doing this. No extra charge for details!

My computer is a Dell Dimension 8400 Intel Pentium 4 Processor 540 (3.2 GHz) w/ HT tech. and 1MB Cache I have 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM at 400 mhz Operating System is Windows XP Media Center Version 2002 Svc Pack 2 DVD is _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A Driver Version 5.1.2535.0 Roxio version DVD Builder 1.2.0.110 This is all off the Dell receipt and I called them and they said that driver was current. I have tried both HP 8X DVD-Rs and TDK 2X DVD-Rs. I was able to create an ISO file (found it under advanced). I then double clicked that file and CD Creator classic came up and asked me if I wanted to record it. I put in the HP DVD-R and hit burn and it burned it!! I was all excited that perhaps I had my movie now on DVD, but all I have is an .ISO file. I had wondered in the past if you could burn the project to a file so you could just drag that to disk later and not have the long wait encoding the movie each time. How can you get this ISO file to a DVD such that when you pop the DVD into a player it plays? Thanks.
james_hardin
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Your Builder version looks OK although mine shows the last 3 as .111. That was why I recommended going into Classic to get the version number. The version number for the Firmware for a NEC 3450A is odd? NEC site lists FW 1.04 (NEC). The fact that Builder can make an ISO indicates all is well with your Project. However, the fact that you can burn in other applications, D2D & Classic, indicate that firmware etc. may be looking in the wrong direction… The ISO file needs to be burned from DVD Builder. I think it can burn from Classic but you need to Start in Classic and specifically select File – Record Disc from Image. You would also have to set the Project Properties to UDF File System and select No Bridge for the disc to be readable in a Player. If you have some DVD RW media, it would be great to use that to try burning your ISO file one or both of these ways. Likewise you can experiment with RW by just burning the default New Project of DVD Builder. You do understand that V6 cannot burn to any DL DVD! – those discs did not even exist when V6 was written. (and I can not adequately express my joy). ImgBurn program burned a playable DVD from the ISO file. SO THANK YOU!!!! However, not before I blew thu another 3 disks trying to burn from the ISO file in DVD creator (it stopped burning after 8% again); then in Classic Creator following the instructions about UDF file system and unchecking the bridge box (it just made a data disk with the ISO file). I am currently buring 2 more copies using ImgBurn (for my vacation companions) before my luck runs out. As I noted in my first post, I did burn a playable DVD a few years ago using this computer and DVD burner. When I went to use it for my next vacation, it told me too many photos for the DVD, even though I was able to easily do it with Windows MovieMaker. I came back to Roxio for this project, because I was including .mov movie clips and Windows doesn't recognize them. So point is it worked once before with this DVD burner. I haven't upgraded the firmware on the DVD recorder since I got it, and I looked on the system and it reports: DVD is _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A Driver Version 5.1.2535.0. Is it still necessary to download this DVD identifier program having said all that. It's my husband's computer and he's not thrilled with me downloading stuff, although I'm sure thankful for ImageBurn. Stupid Question: Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling software would help, and would that erase my projects? Also, when I have attempted to use the Roxio online help, it often just gets hung up. Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it.
james_hardin
Your Project files (project_name.dmsd) are stored in the root of My Documents, unless you forced the save elsewhere. Thus removing the software and reinstalling will not touch them. Understand that these dmsd files are only notes telling Builder what files you used and what settings. They contain nothing of the video or picture files you used. Those files must remain on your PC and in the exact same location or the dmsd file will not work. I recommend you finish you burning project using the software you downloaded before doing any tinkering. Then use some DVD RW media to experiment with so you don't waste any R media. RW media is great for this use, but lacks the long term stability of R media so it is considered too risky for anything of value.

Driver Version 5.1.2535.0. is just that Microsoft's Driver version. Not the firmware for the burner. That depends on your Operating System, what version do you run? I agree with James, finish up your project then go for a clean uninstall and re-install of v6. If you need help with that come back and ask. Agree with the R/W media for testing, but I have one settop DVD player that will not play anything, on any RW media! cdanteek
